VM8022 1 INTRODUCTION Congratulations on your purchase of th e Jensen VM8022 Mobile Multimedia Receiver . It’s a go od idea to read all of the instructions befor e beginning the inst allation. W e recommend having yo ur Jensen VM8022 installed by a reputable installation shop.
VM8022 2 turn the unit on to confirm operation (vehicle ignition must be on). If the unit does not opera te, r e-c heck all wiri ng un til th e pr oblem is co rr ecte d. 3. Secure the rear of the unit to the car bo dy using the mounting bolt an d rubber cush ion.
VM8022 3 IMPORT ANT! The pink parking wire MUST be connected to the switched side of the parking break circuit (the part that becomes grounded when the brake is applied).
VM8022 4 REMOTE CONTROL The remote control will allow you to co ntrol the advanc ed functions of the VM8022. 1. ZOOM (DVD, VCD only) 2. TITLE (DVD only) 3. Power On/Of f 4. SETUP: Access DVD Setup 5. Menu Navigation 6. ENTER 7. PROG: Enter Progra mmed Playback mode.
VM8022 5 OPERATION Power Press the (power) button (2) to turn th e unit on. Pr ess and hold the power button again to turn the unit off. NOTE: LCD panels may tak e longer to respond when subjected to cold temperatures for an ext ended period of time. In addition, the visibility of the numbers on the LCD may decrease slightly .
VM8022 6 When the equalizer function is activate d, the most rece ntly selected bas s/ treble levels cannot be adjusted. When the equ alizer function is not active, the unit will return to th e most recently selected bass and treble levels.
VM8022 7 T UNER OPERATION Select a Band Press the BAND button (3) to change between th ree FM and two AM bands. Each band stores up to six preset st ations. Tuning Manual Tuning Press the TUNE/TRACK >>| or |< < buttons (17) to move the radio frequency num be r up or down one step .
VM8022 8 DISC/MP3/WMA PLAYBACK Insert and Eject Disc Insert a disc, label side up, into the disc slot (18). T o stop disc play and eject the disc, press the ej ect button (4). NOTE: The unit is designed for play of s tandard 5” (12 cm.) discs only .
VM8022 9 Programmed Playback 1. Press th e PROG button on the remote control to access the pro- grammed playba ck screen: 2. Use the , , or cursor buttons to access the fields on the “PROG” screen. 3. Use the number buttons o n the remote control to enter a track number in each field.
VM8022 10 SYSTEM SETUP MENU During disc play , press the SETUP button on the remo te control to access the SYSTEM SETUP menu. Use the , , or cursor buttons to choose between SYSTEM, LANGUAGE, or VIDEO setup options. VM8022 12 USB/SD OPERATION Notes on MP3/WMA Play MP3 and WMA (Windows Media Audio) music files are digital au dio files that are compressed to a llow more files on a single CD. This unit can play MP3/WMA dir ectly from files contained on a CD-R/RW or an SD card, USB Device using the buttons on the receiver (or remote contro l) as described below .
VM8022 13 MP3 Playing Order When selected for play , files and fold ers (Folder Search, File Search or Folder Select) are accessed in the orde r in which they were written to the media. As a result, the orde r in w hic h the y ar e ex pe cte d to be play e d may not match the or de r in whic h the y ar e ac tually played.
VM8022 14 File Playback When a disc or device (SD, USB) contain ing individual music, video and/or photo files is inserted, the following screen appears: The category , folder or file list is displayed on screen with the name of the file/folder being played di splayed on top.
