1 H ANOVER ™ Safet y and the proper operation of your Casablanca fan both requir e a thorough knowledge of the pr oduct and proper installation; therefore , before attempting to install and oper ate your Casablanca fan, read this owner’ s manual completely and carefully .

4 CEILING HARD W ARE (not to scale) WA R N I N G ! Suppor t directly to building structure only . Using Existing Ceiling F ixture O utlet Box After turning the power OFF at its source (either circuit breaker or fuse box), lower the old fi xture and disconnect the wiring.
5 H ANOVER ™ NOTE: is step is required only under two conditions: If the fan weighs 36 lbs. or more (which does not pertain to this fan) or if the existing ceiling fi xture outlet box needs to be modifi ed for a ceiling fan application (for example, if the house is not new construction and you are replacing an existing light fi xture).

7 H ANOVER ™ TIP: e downr od has a tapered thread that is designed to lock completely when installed correctly . Step 6c. Using the provided Allen wrench (attached to the paper motor warning shield), remove the Allen set scr ew f rom the hanger adaptor and set it aside .
8 Step 9. Attach the fan wires to the ceiling fi xture outlet bo x wiring by placing the bare ends of the wires side b y side and then securing with a wire nut.
