5 1 Safety Instructions The safety of our appliances is in accor dance with reco gnised techno- logical standar ds and appliance safety legislation. We nevertheless feel that it is important to acquaint you with the following safety guidelines: Use for Intended Purpose • T he appliance is intended for use at home.

7 In case of malfunction • If a malfunction should occur at the appliance, refer fir st to the section "What to do if ..." in these oper ating instruction. If the instructions in this section are not sufficient, do not undertake any further work on your own.
8 Appliance T r ansport T wo people are r e quired to tr ansport the appliance. There ar e two r ecessed handles at the front of the base and at the back of the appliance at the top for impr oved gripping. 0 1. Pull the plinth cover forwards to re move (see „Reversing the door“, Item 1).
9 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be installed in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by the ambient temperatur e.
Installation 10 The appliance needs ventilation Air is fed under the door through the vent slots in the base and is vented upwar ds along the back wall.
Installation 11 Electrical Connection A pr operly installed socket outlet wi th earthing contact is r equir ed for electrical connection. Electrical fuse protection must be of at least 1 0 ampere.
Installation 12 Electrical Connection (valid for United Kingdom only) Any electrical work requir ed to inst all this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. 1 W ARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED The manufactur er declines any liabilit y should these s afety measures not be ob served.
13 Reversing the Door The side at which the door opens can be changed from the right side (factory adjustment) to th e left side, if the installation site r equires. 1 Wa r n i n g ! When changing the side at which the door opens, the appliance must not be connected to the mains.
Reversing the Door 14 5. Remove slider for the door closer (C1) from the right lower door pivot, if necessary using a sharp scr ewdriver (1). Tr ansfer covers on door pivots from left to right (2, 3), separate supplied slider for the door closer (C2) fr om the connecti ng piece, and place it on the lower left door pivot (4).

16 The most important char acteristic of your appliance • T he appliance can be used as a fr eezing unit or as a r efrigerator depending on requir eme nt. For this purpose, the operation mode "Freezing" or the oper ation mode "Cooling" can be selected on the appliance.

Appliance Description 20 Buttons for Adjusting the T emper atur e The temperatur e is adjust e d using the „+“ (WAR- MER) and „-“ (COLDER) buttons.

23 2. Set the temperatur e depending upon the selected operation mode (see the chapter "Setting the Temper ature"). Attention! If you ar e using the appliance as a fr eezing unit: Please wai.
24 Switch on COOLMA TIC MA TIC (Only possible in opera tion mode "Cooling") COOLMATIC function is suitable for fast cooling larger quantities of foodstuff when in the cooling mode, e.g. drinks or salads during a party . 0 1. Press the FROSTMA TIC button.
25 Important! Once the FROSTMA TIC function has been switched on the DESIRED temper atur e that was set originally cannot be changed. The curr ent freezer temper ature ap pear s in the di splay when the FAST FREEZE function is switched on.
26 Contr ol and Information Systems The contr ol and information systems consist of a temper atur e display , an optical warning display and an acoustic warning device.
Control and Information Systems 27 Such a temperatur e increase is pr obably due to: – frequent or extended opening of the door; – s toring lar ge quantities of warm food; – high ambient temperatur e; – a fault in the appliance.
28 Fr eezing (only in the operating mode "Fr eezing“) Attention! • Be for e foods are fr ozen, the actual temper ature in the fr eezer compartment must be -18 °C or colder . • Please observe indicated fr eezing capacity on the rating plate.
29 – aluminium foil, extra str ong. • T he following are suited for sealing bags and wr aps: plastic clips, rubber b ands or adhesive tape. • Press air out of bags and wr ap s before sealing, because air encourages drying of frozen goods. • Make flat packages, because these fr eeze more quickly .
30 Stor age Goods Symbols/Fr eezing Calendar (not included with all models) • The symbols on the compart- ment flaps and drawer s show different types of fr oze n goods. • T he numbers indicate stor age times in months for the app r opriate types of frozen goods.
Cooling 31 • Co mmodities suitable for "Long Fresh" cooling ar e: – meat and sausages – fresh poultry – fresh fish – milk, butter , curd cheese – berries, fruits and vegetables – salads, mushr ooms. • F oodstuff unsuitable for "long fresh" cooling ar e: – coldness-sensitive fruits, e.
32 Cleaning and Maintenance For hygienic reasons the applianc e interior , including interior accessories, should be cleaned regularly . 1 Wa r n i n g ! • T he appliance must not be connec ted to the mains during cleaning.
33 2 Accumulation of dust at the conden ser increases ener gy consumption. For this reason car efully clean the cond enser at the back of the appliance once a year with a so ft brush or a vacuum cleaner . 7. After everything is dry place appliance back into service.
34 What to do if ... Corr ecting Malfunctions P erhaps a malfunction has been caused by a minor error , wh ich you can correct your self with the help of the foll owing instructions. Do not attempt any further repair s i f the following instructio ns do not help in each specific case.
What to do if ... 35 Red warning indicator is flashing, temperature dis- play shows a squar e or error code (F7 or F8). A functions err or has occurred. Please make a no te of the indicated err or and inform the customer service department. Do not open the applian ce door again.
What to do if ... 36 Loud compr essor noises. Increased r efrigerating capacity due to start-up, switching on FROSTMA TIC function, open door , or storage of fr esh foods. The noise levels will decr ease automatically when norma l operat ion is resumed a nd the refriger- ating capacity is r educed.
37 Replacing the light bulb 1 Wa r n i n g ! Danger of electrical shock! Befor e replacing the light bulb switch appliance off and r emove the mains plug , or switch off or turn out the cir cuit breaker or fuse. Light bulb specifications: 220-240 V, max.
38 Regulations , Standards , Guidelines This appliance was designed for ho usehold use and was m anufactur ed in accor dance with the appr opriate standar ds.
39 • Compr essor The compr essor looks like a small bin. It is power ed by an electric motor and is housed at the back in the base of the appliance. It is the task of the compr essor to withdraw vapor ous r efrigerant fr om the evapor ator , to compr ess it and feed it to the condenser .
