E-10 Song Bank Quick Reference A selection of 100 Song Bank tunes comes built-in for your listening pleasure or play along fun. A simple operation cuts out the melody part or accompaniment part of the tune, allowing you to play along on the keyboard. See “ Using the Song Bank ” on page E-22 for details on playing along with Song Bank tunes.

E-14 Connections Phones/Output T erminal Before connecting phones or other external equipment, be sure to first turn down the volume settings of the keyboar d and the connected equipment. Y ou can then adjust volume to the desired level after connections ar e complete.
E-15 Basic Operations This section provides information on performing basic keyboard operations. Playing the Keyboard T o play the keyboard 1 Set the POWER/MODE switch to NORMAL. 2 Use the MAIN VOLUME slider to lower the keyboard volume. • It ’ s always a good idea to set the keyboard volume at a relatively low level befor e playing.
E-16 Basic Operations Combination tones The following describes the two types of combination tones that are available. Layered Tones (Tone Numbers: 80 through 89) Example : 80 STR PIANO This tone layers a strings tone with a piano tone so they both sound when a keyboard key is pr essed.
E-17 Auto Accompaniment This keyboard automatically plays bass and chord parts in accordance with the chor ds you finger . The bass and chord parts are played using sounds and tones that ar e automatically selected to select the rhythm you ar e using.
E-18 Auto Accompaniment POWER/MODE TEMPO START/STOP Adjusting the T empo Y ou can adjust the tempo of rhythm play within a range of 20 to 255 beats per minute. The tempo setting is applied to Auto Accompaniment chor d play , and song bank operations. T o adjust the tempo 1 Use the TEMPO buttons ( 왖 / 왔 ) to adjust the tempo.
E-19 Auto Accompaniment Chord T ypes CASIO CHORD accompaniment lets you play four types of chords with minimal fingering. Major chords Major chord names ar e marked above the keys of the accompaniment keyboard. Note that the chord produced when you press an accompaniment keyboar d does not change octave, regar dless of which key you use to play it.
E-20 FINGERED FINGERED provides you with a total of 15 dif ferent chord types. The following describes the FINGERED “ Accompaniment keyboard ” and “ Melody keyboard ” , and tells you how to play a C-root chord using FINGERED.
E-21 Auto Accompaniment Using a Fill-in Pattern Fill-in patterns let you momentarily change the rhythm pattern to add some interesting variation to your performances. The following procedur e describes how to use the Fill-in feature. T o insert a fill-in 1 Press the ST AR T/STOP button to start rhythm play .
E-22 Using the Song Bank A selection of 100 Song Bank tunes comes built-in for your listening enjoyment or play along fun. Y ou can turn off the left-hand or right-hand part to practice with the remaining part. Playing Back a Song Bank T une T o play back a Song Bank tune 1 Set the POWER/MODE switch to NORMAL.
E-23 Using the Song Bank T o pause Song Bank tune play 1 While a Song Bank tune is playing, press the PLA Y/ P AUSE button to pause it. 2 T o resume play , press PLA Y/P AUSE again. T o fast reverse during playback 1 While playback is in progress, hold down the REW button.
E-24 Using the Song Bank Adjusting the T empo of a Song Bank Tune T o change the tempo of a Song Bank tune The tempo can be set within a range of 20 to 255 beats per minute. The tempo setting can be adjusted while the tune is stopped, playing back, or paused.
E-25 Using the Song Bank 3 Press the PLA Y/P AUSE button to start play of the Song Bank T une. • Only the part (melody or accompaniment) that is turned on is played, so you can play the other part on the keyboard. • Y ou can press the RIGHT ON/OFF and LEFT ON/ OFF buttons to turn parts on and off while playback is in progress.
E-26 Applause Sound Whenever you turn off the left hand or right hand part of a Song Bank tune and play it back, an applause sound is produced when the tune r eaches the end. T o turn off the applause sound 1 Press the ST OP button and the LEFT ON/OFF or RIGHT ON/OFF button at the same time.
E-27 Using the Chord Book The Chord Book mode of this keyboar d lets you use button operations to sound a chord, even if you do not know how to finger it on the keyboards. Specifying a chor d using the Chord Book also causes its Auto Accompaniment to play .
E-28 Using the Chord Book Looking Up a Chord Using the Chord Book 1 Press the CHORD button to enter the Chord Book mode. 2 Press the CLEAR button. • This step is necessary to clear any previously input chord name.

E-31 Keyboard Settings Transposing the Keyboard T ranspose lets you raise and lower the overall key of the keyboard in semitone units. If you want to play an accompaniment for a vocalist who sings in a key that ’ s differ ent from the keyboard, for example, simply use transpose to change the key of the keyboard.
