5 Daily Oper ation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atures. There is a risk of an explosion! Do not stor e any containers with flamma- ble materials such as, spray cans, fir e extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refriger ator/freezer .
6 Remove tr ansport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings ar e protected for transport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. Disposal of old Appliances For environmental r easons, refriger ation appliances must be disposed of properly .
Starting up and temper ature r egulation Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar - bonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not use soap or deter- gent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thoroughly .
8 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The remaining stor age shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the storage shelf forwar d until it can be tipped up or down and remo- ved.

10 Ice pack There is an ice pack in one dr awer of the freezer . In the event of a power failure or malfunction, the ice pack will lengthen the amount of time it takes for the frozen food to become too warm by several hour s.
11 Defr osting Refrigerator Frost is automatically r emoved from the evapor ator of the refriger ator com- partment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use. The defrost water dr ains out through a tr ough into a special container at the back of the appliance, located over the motor compr essor , where it evapo- rates.
12 Switching off the appliance To switch off the appliance, turn the temper ature r egulator to position "0" or disconnect from the electricity supply . If the appliance i s not going to be used for an extended period: 1. Remove all refriger ated and deep-frozen packages as well as ice tr ays.
3. Clean the appliance and the inte- rior accessories with lukewarm water and with a little bicarbonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre of water). Commercially available dish washing detergents may also be used. 4. Dry the appliance thoroughly . 5. Check the water dr ain hole on the rear wall of the fridge.
14 The compressor starts after a period of time. See the "Cleaning and Care" section. This is normal, no error has occurred. The compressor does not start immediately after changing the temperatur e setting. Water on the floor or on sto- rage shelves.
