P age 9 W -1000 • Plug one end of the handset cord (coiled) into the bottom of the handset. • Plug the other end of the handset cord into the jack located on the low er left edge of the W alk er Clarity . • Place the handset in the cradle of the W alker Clarity .
W -1000 P age 10 Impor tant: Reset the Clar ity Po wer Contr ol to zer o after e ver y call to protect other users of the telephone . A high setting on this control may be unpleasant to another user ; caution should be tak en to reset it after e ver y use .
P age 11 W -1000 A lighted ringer w orks in conjunction with the low fr equency ringer . It sends out a visual flashing alert every time a phone call is coming in. (This ringer will light up regar dless of the setting on the ringer volume contr ol.) The Clarity Phone can be used as either a T ONE (touch dial) or PULSE (rotary dial) phone.
W -1000 P age 12 Note for Users with Pulse/Rotar y ser vice only: Many automated answering systems used by banks, stores and go vernment agencies ask you to “Push 1 for ser vice”, “Push 2 for the oper ator”, etc . Y ou must s witc h the tone/pulse switch on the top edge of the phone to tone bef ore responding to these pr ompts.

T o Place or Receiv e a Call: Note: If you made an error while dialing, just depress the hookswitch, listen for a dial tone, and dial again.

P age 21 W -1000 T r oubleshooting Continued • Difficulty Pr ogramming Account Numbers —Y our T ONE/PULSE selector must be switched to the T ONE mode to enter account numbers. This is because most interactiv e phone systems requir e T OUCH T ONE to operate .
W -1000 P age 22 • Clarity Phones Are Compatible With Digital PBX Systems —These units ha v e a large electr onic box contr olling many phones as one unit. These types of units ma y be found in office buildings and some r etirement homes, nursing homes and condos.

W -1000 P age 24 FCC Requir ements Continued 3. Repair Instructions If it is determined that your telephone equipment is malfunctioning, the FCC requires that it not be used and that it be unplugged from the modular outlet until the pr oblem has been corrected.
