About this manual This is the instruction manual for 1 Channel Mobile DVR, Model MVR1020. This manual describes how to install and operate the MVR1020 and provide information regarding specifications and features of this product. Please be sure to read this manual and fo llow the instructions when installing the MVR1020.
1. Unpacking When unpacking the DVR Unit, please be cautious not to drop, throw or hit with force. This may cause damage to the product that could lead to m alfunctions.

4. Installation 4-1. What to do befor e Installation Make sure all the required hardware is available. - 1 Channel Mobile DVR unit (requires installing a CF Card) - Camera (including power for camera unit) - TV or Composite monitor Connect a camera to the DVR unit and th e DVR unit to the monitor (video output device).
4-2. How to Connect DC power to DVR unit ( Rear V iew) ○ A or ○ B 4-2-1. When Installi ng the DVR in a V ehicle Cut out the DC jack on the provided DC power wires as shown in Fig.4-1, and then connect wires as follows. GROUND: Connect the BLACK colored wire to vehicle’ s chassis (Do not connect it to the gas tank or the airbag area).
4-2-2. When Using the DVR for Security Purpose ▪ Connect the 4pin connector with 2 wires in polarity to the power in jack on the rear panel of the DVR. ▪ Connect DC 12V or DC24V , 3A AC ad apter (not supplied: Switching Power Supply , center: +, outer: ground) to the DC jack on the provided DC power wires shown in Fig.
4-3. How to Install the Mounting Bracket for DVR ▪ Unscrew 2-locking screw knobs and 4 screws on both sides of the DVR. ▪ Attach the mounting bracket onto both si des of DVR and secure them with the screws (See Fig. 4-3). ▪ If necessary , install the DVR with th e mounting brackets to proper place in your vehicle.

4-5-2. Rear ⑤ ① ③ ④ ② Fig.4-6 Rear V iew 1) V ideo IN/OUT Connect a camera to the V ideo Input (RCA Connector) and a monitor to the V ideo Output (RCA Connector) on the rear pa nel of the unit as shown in Fig.
3) Alarm IN/OUT Connect a Normally Open (N.O.) sensor to the Alarm Input and a Normally Open (N.O.) sensor or Normally Close (N.C.) sensor to the Alarm Output depending on your application. 4) IR Remote Control Extender (Optional) Plug the IR remote control extender to the jack in order to extend the remote control distance.

5. HOW T O OPERA TE 5-1. General Operation Y ou can operate the functions of the system by using the buttons located on the front panel of the DVR unit, as well as the rem ote controller . The system status is indicated by e ither the LED lights or the monitor .
5-2. Running for the First T ime (Initializing) When you turn on the power for the first time, the screen will be shown as below . ○ 1 ② Fig.5-1Initializin g ① : Displays CF Card capacity available for recording. ② : Displays firmware version.

5-4. Setup - Press the MENU button on the front panel or the remote controlle r to setup the menus, the screen shown in Fig.5-4 will be displayed. - Press the MENU button again to return to the previous m enu. ① Capacity of CF Card ② V ersion of System ③ Icons Fig.
5-4-1. T ime/Date - Choose the TIME menu by using the ◀▶ button. - Press the ▼ or ▲ button, the TIME/DA TE menu shown in Fig. 5-5 will display . Fig.5-5 T ime/Date Menu - Select the values (year/month/ date/hour/minute) by using the ◀▶ button, change the values with the ▼ or ▲ b utton.
5-4-2. F A./CF - Choose the F A./CF menu by using the ◀▶ button. - Press the ▼ or ▲ button, the F A./CF menu shown in Fig. 5-6 will display . Fig.5-6 F A./CF Menu Factory Set - Select the F ACTOR Y SET in the F A./CF menu by using the ◀▶ button and select YES or NO with the ▼ or ▲ button.
REC List Clear - Select the REC LIST CLEAR in the F A./CF menu by using the ◀▶ button and select YES or NO with the ▼ or ▲ button. S elected item will be highlighted in yellow . - Select “YES” and then press the PLA Y button on the front panel or the remote controller for deleting the reco rding lists.
5-4-3. Record - Choose the RECORD menu by using the ◀▶ button. - Press the ▼ or ▲ button, the RECORD menu shown in Fig. 5-7 will d isplay . Fig.
Event REC T ime - Select the EVENT REC TIME (Event Recording T ime by Alarm or Motion Detection) in the RECORD menu by using the ◀▶ button and select an event recording time (1 to 99 seconds) with the ▼ or ▲ button. Selected item will be highlighted in yellow .
5-4-4. Motion/Alarm - Choose the RECORD menu by using the ◀▶ button. - Press the ▼ or ▲ button, the MOTION/ALARM m enu shown in Fig. 5-9 will be displayed.

5-5. Recording There are four kinds of record ing available in this system . - Manual recording: Continuous recording - Alarm recording: Recording by alarm sensors - Motion recording: Recording by motion detection - Alarm & Motion recording: Recording by alarm sensors and motion detection simultaneously .
5-5-3. Motion Recording The system will autom atically start reco rding only when m otions of object are detected. - Setup the AREA (motion area) in th e MOTION/ALARM menu (See section 5-4-4 for more details). - Pr ess REC button on the fr ont panel or the r emote controller .
5-6. Playback The screen shown in Fig.5-14 will appear if the PLA Y button on either the front panel or the remote controller is pressed in the liv e mode. Fig.5-14 Sc r een in Playback Menu 5-6-1. Replaying fr om the first - In order to replay from the first r ecording tim e, select the REPLA YING FROM THE FIRST in the PLA Y m enu as shown in Fig.

Sear ch by Recording Lists - Press the LIST button on the front panel or the remote controller , up to 990 recording lists will be displayed as sh own in Fig.

6. VIEWER 6-1. CF Card V iewer Installation Install the program in your PC by using the supplied CD as follows. - S tart the Operating System (W indows XP/VIST A). - Insert the program CD into CD-ROM drive. - Open My Computer , and then select CD-ROM drive.

CFCard V iewer By CFCard V iewer you can view the recorded data, save it to a PC and c onvert it to A VI file format. - Insert the CFCard that contains the r ecord data to the provided USB 2.
- Click the USB device (CFCard) on the uppe r right hand corner of the screen to select (See Fig.6-8). - T o exit, click on the upper right hand corner of the screen, press ESC or AL T+F4 button on your key board. Fig.6-8 Selecti on of U SB devi ce (C FC ar d) 6-2-1.
Fig.6-10 Pl aying Speed C ontr ol Adjust Audio V olume: Click the VOLUME button in Fig.6- 1 1, and then adjust audio volume by clicking the slider and dragging it or clicking the bar . It is available at the normal playing speed. Click the V OLUME button again to make it “Mute”.
6-2-3. A VI File Converting - Click the A VI and Save button shown in Fig.6-13 while the system is in the playback mode (Refer to section 6-2-1). - The A VI file will be saved in the CFCard_DVR_BK folder (C:CFCard_DVR_BK).

6-3. Raw Data Backup Raw Data Backup is to save all the recorded data or partial data that stored in CF Card in your PC. - Click the USB device (CFCard) on the upper right hand corner of the CFCard V iewer to select (See Section 6-2 for more details).
