15 1. Make sure no bystande rs, animals, or objects are behi nd the machine. Look behind the machine , and use e xtreme care. 2. Slowly , mov e both lap bars tow ard the rear of the machine until the mach ine begins to mov e rearward. Release the la p bars and the machine should stop .
16 j. After y ou hav e mastered oper ating the mow er , use the se cond f oot pedal to low er the mowing dec k to the cutting position and pull on the electric blade clutch s witch to star t the b lades rotating. k. Pra ctice mowing in straight passes .

19 2. Dra ining Hydrauli c Oil Used h ydraulic oil m ust be disposed of p roper ly . Do not pour it down a drai n or sewer , o r dump it on open land, this creates an e nvironmental h azard. Please be a ware of the env ironment when disposing of used oil.

Attach the other end o f the red jumper cab le to the P ositive ter minal (+) of the low charge bat - ter y . c. Attach the end of the b lack jumper cable to th e Negativ e ter minal of th e charged batter y .

26 P erformance Adjustments A. High Speed T racking Adjustment If mow er tracks to one side wi th both lap bars in fully f orward position: 1. Chec k air pressure in all four tires: a. Pressure should be within specif ied ranges and balanc ed side-to-side.
27 C. Deck Corner Ball Wheel Roller Settings 1. Matching the set heights of th e ball rollers on the f our cor ners of the mo wer deck to the desired cut height will pre vent edg e scalping and minimize an y side-to-side variance in cut height. 2. There are three height adjustment holes in the brac ket that moun t the ball rollers to the deck.
28 F . Deck le veling Procedure 1. P ar k the mower on a flat pav ed surface , e ngage the parkin g brak e, shut off the engi ne, remo ve the ke y from the i gnition s witch, di sconnect the spark pl ug wires and using the foot pedal, lower the mowing deck into the 3" height of cut posi - tion.

Do not mow on inclines with a slope in excess of 15 degrees (a ri se of app roximately 2-1/2 feet every 10 feet). A rid ing mower could overturn and ca use serious injury. If operating a walk-be h ind mower on such a slope, it is extremely difficult to mainta in your footing and you could slip, resulting in serious injury.
