4- ENG D23757 WARNING: Risk of Bursting Air T ank: The following conditions could lead to a weakening of the tank, and result in a violent tank explosion and could cause property damage or serious injury .

Like any other electrically powered device, If it is not used pr operly it may cause electric shock.
6- ENG D23757 HOW TO PREVENT IT WHA T CAN HAPPEN WARNING: RISK OF BURNS T ouching exposed metal such as the compressor head or outlet tubes, can result in serious burns. Never touch any exposed metal parts on compressor during or immediately after operation.
7- ENG D23757 Review and understand all instructions and war nings in this manual. Become familiar with the operation and controls of the air compr essor . Keep operating area clear of all persons, pets, and obstacles. Keep children away fr om the air compres- sor at all times .
8- ENG D23757 GLOSSAR Y Become familiar with these terms before operating the unit. CFM : Cubic feet per minute. SCFM: Standard cubic feet per minute; a unit of measur e of air delivery . PSIG: Pounds per square inch gauge; a unit of measur e of pressur e.
9- ENG D23757 ASSEMBL Y (does not apply to all units) Assembly for “Pancake” units 1. Carefully place unit on side opposite of contr ols. 2. Using a 3/8 inch socket or nut driver remove the scr ews attaching the unit to the shipping pallet. NOTE : These screws will be used to install the rubber feet.
10- ENG D23757 GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. In the event of a short cir- cuit, grounding r educes the risk of shock by providing an escape wire for the electric curr ent.
11- ENG D23757 Extension Cords Using extension cords is not r ecommended. The use of extension cords will cause voltage to drop r esulting in power loss to the motor and overheating. Instead of using an extension cord, incr ease the working reach of the air hose by attaching another length of hose to its end.

13- ENG D23757 Pressur e Release V alve: The pressure release valve located on the side of the pressur e switch, is designed to automatically release compr essed air from the compr essor head and the outlet tube when the air compressor r eaches “cut-out” pressur e or is shut off.
14- ENG D23757 MAINTENANCE Customer Responsibilities Daily or after each use Before each use Check Safety V alve ● Drain T ank ● T o Check Safety V alve If the safety valve does not work properly , over - pressurization may occur , causing air tank rupture or an explosion.
15- ENG D23757 T o Replace or Clean Check V alve 1. Release all air pressur e from air tank. See “T o Drain T ank” in the Maintenance section. 2. Unplug outfit. 3. a. (if equipped) Remove the hose by removing the hose clamp. NOTE: The hose clamp is not r eusable.
16- ENG D23757 T o Replace Regulator 1. Release all air pressur e from air tank. See “T o Drain T ank” in the Maintenance section. 2. Unplug outfit. 3. Using an adjustable wrench r emove the gauges and quick connect or hose adapter from the r egulator .
17- ENG D23757 TROUBLESHOOTING Performing repairs may expose voltage sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces, moving parts or com- pressed air sour ces. Personal injury may occur . Prior to attempting any repairs, unplug the air compr essor and bleed off all air tank air pr essure.
18- ENG D23757 Regulator will not shut off air outlet. Damaged regulator Replace PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION It is normal for “some” pres- sure dr op to occur .
19- ENG D23757 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Motor will not run. Check fuse box for blown fuse and replace as neces- sary . Reset circuit br eak- er . Do not use a fuse or cir- cuit breaker with higher rat- ing than that specified for your particular branch circuit.
20- ENG D23757 LIMITED W ARRANTY DeVilbiss Air Power Company warrants to the original purchaser who uses the pr oduct in a con- sumer application (personal, residential or household usage) that all products cover ed under this war- ranty are free fr om defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of pur chase.
