Like any other electrically powered device, If it is not used pr operly it may cause electric shock.
6- ENG D26195 HOW TO PREVENT IT WHA T CAN HAPPEN WARNING: RISK OF BURNS T ouching exposed metal such as the compressor head or outlet tubes, can result in serious burns. Never touch any exposed metal parts on compressor during or immediately after operation.
7- ENG D26195 Review and understand all instructions and warnings in this manual. Become familiar with the operation and controls of the air compr essor . Keep operating area clear of all persons, pets, and obstacles. Keep children away fr om the air compressor at all times .
8- ENG D26195 GLOSSAR Y DUTY CYCLE Air compressors should be operated on not mor e than a 50% duty cycle. This means an air compressor that pumps air mor e than 50% of one hour is considered misuse, because the air compr essor is undersized for the required air demand.
9- ENG D26195 Assemble Wheels It will be necessary to brace or support one side of the outfit when installing the wheels because the compressor will have a tendency to tip. 1. Attach wheels with shoulder bolts and nuts as shown. 2. Tighten securely . NOTE : The outfit will sit level if the wheels are pr operly installed.
10- ENG D26195 INST ALLA TION GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. In the event of a short circuit, gr ounding reduces the risk of shock by providing an escape wire for the electric curr ent. This air compressor must be properly gr ounded.
11- ENG D26195 Extension Cords Use extra air hose instead of an extension cord to avoid voltage dr op and power loss to the motor , and to prevent overheating.
12- ENG D26195 Description of Operation Become familiar with these controls befor e operating the unit. On/Auto/Off Switch : T ur n this switch ON to provide automatic power to the pressur e switch and OFF to remove power at the end of each use.
13- ENG D26195 Check V alve: When the air compressor is operating, the check valve is "open", allowing compressed air to enter the air tank. When the air compressor r eaches "cut-out" pressure, the check valve "closes", allowing air pressur e to remain inside the air tank.
14- ENG D26195 How to Start: 1. T ur n the On/Auto/Off lever to "AUTO" and allow tank pr essure to build. Motor will stop when tank pressur e reaches "cut-out" pressur e. 2. Pull the regulator knob out and turn clockwise to increase pr essure.
15- ENG D26195 NOTE: See "Operation" section for the location of controls. T o ensure ef ficient operation and longer life of the air compressor outfit, a routine maintenance schedule should be pr epared and followed.
16- ENG D26195 Air Compressor Pump Intake and Exhaust V alves Once a year have a T rained Service T echnician check the air compressor pump intake and exhaust valves. If it is dirty , r eplace it with a new filter . On some models,the filter may be removed by using a pair of needle nose pliers or a scr ewdriver .
17- ENG D26195 8. Apply sealant to the check valve threads. Reinstall the check valve (turn clockwise). 9. Replace the pressur e release tube. Tighten nuts. 10. Replace the outlet tube and tighten nuts. 11. Perform the Break-in Procedur e. See "Break-in Procedur e" in the Operation section.
18- ENG D26195 STORAGE Before you stor e the air compressor , make sure you do the following: 1. Review the "Maintenance" section on the preceding pages and perform scheduled maintenance as necessary . 2. Set the On/Auto/Off lever to "OFF".
19- ENG D26195 TROUBLESHOOTING Performing repairs may expose voltage sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces. Personal injury may occur . Prior to attempting any repairs, unplug the air compr essor and bleed off all air tank air pressur e.
20- ENG D26195 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION It is normal for "some" pressur e drop to occur . If there is an excessive amount of pressur e drop when the accessory is used, adjust the regulator following the instructions in the "Description of Operation" paragraph in the "Operation Section.
21- ENG D26195 Regulator will not shut off air outlet. Damaged regulator Replace PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Motor will not run. Fuse blown, circuit br eaker tripped.
