3 Slide open t he battery compartmen t and ins ert the batteries a s illustrated. Push down on the battery do or with both thumbs (1) and slide the doo r inward w hile pushing d own (2) 1 2 Caution: Only use size AAA alkaline batteries. Batteries may leak or explod e if handled improperly.
4 You can use SD to increase t he amount of st orage capacity of you r epsilon 2.1 ca mera. The card can vary in capacity from16MB upwards, a 16MB card can hol d up to 102 images. To insert the SD (Secure Digital) c ard into th e cam era open the ba ttery door on the bottom of the camera.
5 1. Switch the epsilon 2.1 on b y holding dow n the Power On/Off sw itch for a secon d. 2. Turn the mode se lection switch s o that the is line d up with r e d spot next to the po wer On/Off button. 3. Press the (Mode) button on the camera and then the 4 wa y controller righ t until the “settin g ” mode is displayed.
6 Settings Date and time : Set the dat e and time by moving the 4 way controller left/right for the day/month/year/ho ur/minute, Move up/down to cha nge and press Set to confirm. Date style: Choose the type of date/time style you prefer moving up and do wn with the 4 way co ntrolle r and th en press S et to co nfirm.
7 LCD Displa y White balance Exposure Image size: Large/Medium /Small Image Quality: Normal/Fine Burst shoot mode Flash: On/ Off/Au to Number of pi ctures re maining. Zoom Battery status Burst shoot mode: To enable /disable this simply press t he 4 wa y co ntro ller righ t to s witch On/Of f in picture taking mode.
8 Switch on your epsilon came ra by holding down the p ower button for a second. Turn the Mode selecti on switch t o the Automatic or Manual se tting for p icture taking. You can eit her use the viewf inder or displa y scre en to focus on t he pict ure you w ant to take.
9 Recording v ideo & Audio cli ps To record video c lips with your e psilon 2.1 digital camera turn th e mode sele ctio n button to the video position. To start recording video with sound pr ess the shut ter bu tton. To stop th e recording si mply press the sh utter button again.
10 Viewing images, Video & Audio To view your images, Video or Audio on the camera di splay sc reen turn the mode selection switch to the Pla y mode. To move between the images pres s the 4 way cont roller righ t to move forwar d through the images or le ft to move back ward through t he images.
11 Television p layback TV To view your im ages on your TV pl ug in th e supplied TV lead into the A V Socket of your televi sion and the other end into th e TV Out on the camera. Swi tch the camera o n and turn the mo de selection switch to playback mo de.
12 Software installation Before plugging i n your camera to your co m puter insert the CD that came with your e p silon 2.1 into your CD /DV D drive of your co mputer. After a few seconds the installati o n screen will appear. Select the language of y our cho ice and the follo wing screen will then appe ar.
13 Downloadi ng Your images To downloa d your images fr om your camer a turn the m ode selection di al to the playback posit ion. Con nect the large end of the USB l ead to your computer and th e smaller end of the USB lead to the camera. There is no need to switch the camera on as it will automa tically turn on when connected to the USB l ead.
14 You will no w have a windo w that app ears with your i mages, videos an d audio clips in side. Double click this and you will be able to view the picture take n Double click this type of file and you will be able to view your mo vie.
15 Option2 To open your im ages and edi t them double click on the MGI Phot oSuite® 4 icon o n your desktop. 1 Click on this icon. 2 Click on the “co mputer” button 3 Click the drop down arrow Select the “r emovable Drive” fro m the list 4 Double mouse click on the “ DCIM” folder.
16 5 Double clic k on the “101V2 210” folde r. 6 Click on a file to preview it and then click the “open” button This is the Preview area 7 Once you h ave opened an i mage a nd finished edit ing or printing it you can save it to your comput er.
17 Downloadi ng Your images Windows® XP If you have Wind ows® XP you ca n download your im ages a s previously desc ribed, however you can also use the Cam era wizard built in t o Windows® XP. Plug in your epsi lon 2.1 to t he USB port an d the f ollowing auto d ownload wi ll appear.
18 Web camer a function To use your epsilon 2.1 as a web camera on your co mputer you will need to turn the mode s election dial to the PC Cam mode. You can use any web camera software that is availa ble on the internet or use the st andard Microsoft ® NetMeeting® con ferencing softw are supplied on the e psilon CD Rom.
