1 Section One - Intr oduction Getting Acquainted Congratulations on your purchase of the RP1000. The RP1000 Integrated Effects Switching System tak es your tone to the next level giving you the control that you need over your external amp and stompboxes while packing in the power of a multi-effects processor .
2 Amp/Cabinet Bypass Y ou can also turn off the internal amps and cabinets f or all the presets in the RP1000. This is reall y useful when you just want to add eff ects processing to y our own cor e amplifier sound.
3 Amp Gain/Effect P arameter (Knob 4) This knob adjusts the Gain (distortion) for the selected Amp (not available for Acoustic) and is also used to adjust parameters of other effects in the matrix. The amplifier and cabinets can’ t be adjusted when the Amp/Cabinet Bypass button is enabled.

Stomp Loop Footswitch This footswitch enables and disables the mono stompbo x effects loop .
5 8. Knobs 1-6 (From left to right) These six knobs perform various functions, depending on which mode is currentl y active and what (if anything) is being edited. The functions ar e listed below: T one Librar y (Knob 1) In Perf ormance mode, this knob selects from a library of preset amp tones.
6 select the W ah row to adjust this parameter when USB is connected to the RP1000. When the Expression r ow is selected, this knob selects the LFO wa vef orm. LFO 1or 3. LFO 2 must first be selected with Knob 1 for this parameter to be a vailable . Master V olume (Knob 6) In Perf ormance mode, this knob adjusts the output lev el of the RP1000.
7 Rear P anel 1. Amp Loop Gr ound Lift This Ground Lift s witch can be enabled to help pre vent unwanted hum or buzz caused b y ground loops between the RP1000 and external amplifiers/pr eamps.
8 Getting Started Making Connections There ar e lots of wa ys to connect the RP1000 to amps, effects, mixers, and other equipment. Befor e connecting the RP1000 to anything, make sur e both y our amp and the RP1000 are turned off.
9 Loop: (post Distor tion, pre Amp Model/Am p Loop send), or (Post Amp Model/Amp Loop return). Note that the Stomp Loop button’ s LED turns red when it’ s pre amp , and green when it’ s post amp or post FX.
10 Mix er Connect your guitar to the RP1000’ s Input. OR Connect the RP1000 Mixer Outpu ts or 1/4 ” Line Outpu ts to the mixer channel input s. Pan channels har d left and right f or proper stereo ima ging. Amp/Mixer swi tch on 1/4 " output s is set to MIXER.
11 Amp Loop with Pre-Amp In Line Connect the RP1000’ s 1/4 ” Line Outpu ts to the Power Amp inputs . POWER AMP WITH SPEAKER CABS PREAMP Connect the RP1000 Amp Loop Send to the External Preamp Inpu t. Connect the External Preamp Line Out to the RP1000 Amp Loop Return.
12 Amp Loop using Guitar Amp’ s Pre Amp Connect the RP1000 Amp Loop Send to the amp’ s Input. Connect the amp’ s Loop Send to the RP1000 Amp Loop Return. Connect the RP1000 Line Out to the amp ’ s Loop Return. Connect your guitar to the RP1000’ s Input.
13 Studio Setup (Computer and P ersonal Monitors) Connect your guitar to the RP1000’ s Input. XLR Left Out XLR Right O ut STUDIO REFERENCE MONITORS Connect the RP1000’ s USB port to an av ailable USB port on your compu ter .
14 A pplying P ower Befor e applying pow er to an ything, set your amp(s) to a clean tone and set the tone controls to a flat EQ response (on most amps, this should be set to 5 on EQ’ s to obtain the amp’ s natural voicing.). Then follo w the steps listed below .
15 Editing/Creating Pr esets The easiest way to star t editing presets is with the T one Librar y and Effects Librar y knobs. T ry out some of the tones in the T one Librar y and then tr y out some effects setups with the Effects Librar y knob.
16 T o bypass amp/cabinet modeling in all presets, press the Amp/Cabinet Bypass button. When it is lit, amp/cabinet modeling is bypassed in all presets.
17 Section Three - Eff ects and P arameters About the Effects The RP1000 is lik e a dream collection of vintage and contemporary amplifiers with several ped- alboards full of classic, modern, and boutique stompbox es all in a single pr ogrammable, portable package.
18 Distortion The RP1000 includes the tones of many popular distortion stompbox es, each of which can be fully dialed in. Distortion - Knob 1 selects a Distortion.
19 Knobs 2-6 ha ve the f ollowing functions for the various Distortions: Distortion Knob 2 (Gain) Knob 3 (Param. 1) Knob 4 (Param. 2) Knob 5 (Param. 3) Knob 6 (Distor - tion Lev el) P7 (X-Edit TM only.
20 Amplier The amplifiers are an assortment of popular vintage and modern amp tones. The amplifiers also include acoustic guitar simulations. Amp - By default, Knob 1 selects one of the classic, modern, and DigiT ech custom Amp types. Note that when you select an Amp, the default cabinet is automatically selected.
21 Cabinet - Knob 1 also selects cabinets. Pressing this knob alternates between selecting amps and cabinets - Based on a 1x8 ‘57 Fender ® T weed Champ ® .
22 EQ The RP1000’ s EQ helps further shape your tone with Low , Mid, and High contr ols. Knob 1 - Press Knob 1 to turn the EQ on and off. Lo w Le vel - Knob 2 adjusts the Low EQ lev el. Ranges from -12dB to 12dB. Mid Fr equency - Knob 3 selects the frequency that the Mid parameter adjusts.
23 Knobs 2-6 hav e the following functions for the various Chorus types: Chorus Knob 2 (Pre/P ost Amp) Knob 3 (Speed) Knob 4 (Depth) Knob 5 (Regenera- tion) Knob 6 (FX Lev el) .
24 Phaser A phaser splits the incoming signal, and then changes the phasing of the signal. This signal is then tak en in and out of phase and mixed back in with the original signal. As the phasing changes, dif- fer ent frequencies get canceled r esulting in a warm sort of twisting sound.
25 VibroP an ( ) A vibrato is an effect that modulates the pitch of the incoming signal. This will tak e the whole signal slightly in and out of tune at a steady pace. The DigiT ech ® VibroPan also incorporates an automatic panner with the vibrato effect that cr eates a lush chorus-like sound.
26 En velope Filter ( ) The DigiT ech Envelope Filter is a dynamic W ah effect that alters y our sound based upon how hard y ou pla y .
27 Vo x - Knob 5 changes the characteristics of the various synth voices. Ranges from to . Sensitivity - Knob 6 adjusts the sensitivity of the input signal requir ed to trigger the SynthT alk effect.
28 Pitch Shift ( ) A Pitch Shifter copies the incoming signal, then shifts the pitch of the copy to a differ ent note. The shifted note is then mix ed back with the original signal, sounding as if two guitars wer e pla y- ing differ ent notes.
29 Boss ® OC-2 Octav er TM ( ) Based on the Boss ® OC-2 Octa ver TM , this adds tw o signals to your original guitar signal. The first is one octa ve belo w your guitar , and the second is two octa ves belo w your guitar . Each additional signal has its own v olume control.
30 Rev erb Using re verb in r ecorded pr ogram material giv es the listener a sense that the material is being performed in an actual r oom or hall. It is this similarity to actual acoustic spaces that makes re verberation a useful tool in r ecorded m usic.
31 Section F our - Other Functions Expression P edal Y ou can link the Expr ession P edal on the RP1000 to control the RP1000’ s V olume, W ah, Whamm y™, Y aY a™, or almost any of the RP1000’ s other parameters in real time with your f oot.
32 W ah Min/Max Y ou can set the W ah effect’ s minimum and maximum values with the Expression r ow . T o do so , follow these steps: Press the 1. Edit button until the Expression r ow is selected (indicated b y the LED lighting on the Expression r ow).
33 When the Displa y pr ompts you with 3. rock the Expr ession P edal back (toe up) and press F ootswitch 5 . The Displa y now pr ompts you to calibrate the V -Switch sensitivity ( 4. ), where is the curr ent V -Switch threshold.
34 T o use the Looper with a quiet star t, follow these steps: Press the 1. Looper button to enable the Looper . The Looper button should now be lit. None of the Record, Pla y , Overdub LEDs will be lit at this time. T o begin looping, press the 2. Do wn footswitch.
35 If using the optional FS3X to control the Looper , follow these steps for on the fly use: Start playing y our guitar . 1. T o begin looping, press the 2. Do wn footswitch. The Looper will start recording as soon as you pr ess the Down foots witch, and the Record LED on the matrix will light red after about half a second.

38 EQ The RP1000 is equipped with a 3 band semi-parametric EQ which helps shape y our tone with Low , Mid, and High controls. 3 Band Semi-P arametric EQ By adjusting the frequency and le vels of each band, you can contr ol how m uch or little of the frequency range of 60 Hz to 8 kHz y ou want in your o verall tone.
39 DigiT ech® Filter Flanger The DigiT ech tone team expanded on the traditional flanger by adding a band pass filter in the feedback path of the effect. Because of the filter , the filter flanger’ s feedback aff ects only a set amount of frequencies to generate a diff erent flanger effect.
40 Boss® OC-2 Octa ver Based on the Boss® OC-2 Octa verTM, this adds tw o signals to your original guitar signal. The first is one octa ve belo w your guitar , and the second is two octa ves belo w your guitar . Each ad- ditional signal has its own v olume control.
41 V ox® Bias T remolo Another way to achie ve a tr emolo effect is to alter the bias of the pow eramp tubes. This V ox® Bias T r emolo produces the v olume and tone effects to cr eate a tone heard on man y famous Brit- ish tunes.
42 Modulated Dela y A modulated dela y is a digital dela y with chorus added to the dela ys to produce a wider sound- ing stereo dela y . P ong Dela y A pong dela y’ s repeats jump fr om side to side and requires a ster eo setup .
43 Boss® DS-1™ Distortion A truly classic distortion. A nice, common distortion that ranges in tone from rock to mild metal. Use it to drive a distorted amp! Boss MT -2 Metal Zone® The Metal Zone will produce nearl y any metal tone needed fr om tight, percussiv e Ba y area thrash to deep detuned grind core.
44 Fulltone® OCD Over drive Straddling the border of o ver drive and distortion, the OCD produces amazing harmonics and drives an y amp into oblivion.
