8 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. Alarm P age If the alarm system is triggered while armed, an Alarm P age will be sent to the remote control. When the remote receives an Alarm P age , the LED icons will display the alarm system status inf ormation and the remote control will generate beeps .
9 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. out of range notification If a command is issued from the remote , but the remote is beyond the range o f the vehicle to receive the command, the remote responds with 2 sets o f 3 quick beeps and the Green LED will flash 6-times.
10 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. P age notification The remote control can be programmed to notify the user o f a page (audibly beeping if the vehicle’ s status changes, e .g. door unlocked, engine started, vehicle violation, etc .). Press to select page On/Off.
11 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. the in-vehicle’ s status LED is flashing in groups, see the Diagnostics Section o f this guide . This extra chirp is called Bypass Notification. The remote responds to active arming with one beep and the Orange LED will flash 3-times to indicate successful arming o f the system.
12 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. When armed y our vehic le is protected as f ollows: ➤ Light impacts trigger the W arn Away ® signal. When triggered, the siren chirps and the parking lights flash f or a few seconds. ➤ Heavy impacts trip a T riggered Sequence .
13 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. multi-level security arming Multi-Level Security Arming allows you to select which o f the system's inputs or sensors will be active and which will be bypassed when the system is armed. (See T able of Zones section o f this guide .
14 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. arming while driving Y our security system can be armed while driving the vehicle! Simply press on the 2-way remote f or two seconds while the vehicle is running. The siren will chirp once to indicate that the security system is armed, and then once more to indicate that the ignition is on.
15 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. 1. If a sensor triggered the system, the remote will beep 4-times and the Orange and Red LEDs flash 3 times . 2. If a switch (Zone 1, 3, 5, or 6) triggered the system, the remote will beep 4-times , the Orange LED will flash 6-times and Red LED will illuminate f or 3 seconds.
16 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. disarming without a 2-way remote This feature allows you to disarm the security system without the 2-way remote should it be lost, damaged, or disabled. In order to disarm the system without a 2-way remote , you must have the vehicle’s ignition k ey and know where the V alet ® button is located.
17 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. The remote will indicate disarm notification with 2 beeps and 3 flashes o f the Orange LED. silent mode T o temporarily turn off the arm or disarm chirps , use Silent Mode™.
18 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. panic mode If you are threatened in or near your vehicle , you can attract attention by triggering the system with your 2-way remote . Just press for two seconds , and you will enter Panic Mode . The siren will sound and the parking lights will flash f or the programmed siren duration.
19 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. T o enter or e xit V alet ® Mode using the 2-wa y remote: 1. Open any vehicle door . 2. Press . 3. Press . 4. Press again. The in-vehicle status LED will light solidly if you are entering V alet ® Mode , and it will go out if you are exiting V alet ® Mode .

21 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. d d i i a a g g n n o o s s t t i i c c s s The microprocessor at the heart o f your security system is constantly monitoring all o f the switches and sensors that are connected to it. It detects any f aulty switches and sensors and prevents them from disabling the entire system.
22 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. Circuitry has bypassed that zone . The in-vehicle status LED will indicate which zone was involved. (See T able of Zones section o f this guide .
23 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. interpreting zone diagnostics W arn Away responses are not reported by arming or disarming diag- nostics . If you receive a Bypass notification when arming or a T amper Alert notification when disarming, look at the in-vehicle status LED.
24 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. c c o o d d e e h h o o p p p p i i n n g g The receiver and 2-way remotes each use mathematical f ormulas called algorithms to change their codes each time the 2-way remote is used. This technology has been developed to increase the security o f the unit.

26 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. p p o o w w e e r r s s a a v v e e r r m m o o d d e e Y our system will automatically enter Power Saver Mode while armed or in V alet ® Mode , after a period of time in which no operation has been perf ormed. This lowers the current draw to the vehicle’s battery.

28 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. ➤ A utomatic Engine Disable (AED) on or of f : The purpose o f this fea- ture is to protect the vehicle from being stolen at all times , regard- less o f whether or not the alarm is armed. If AED is programmed on, the starter o f the vehicle will be disabled 30 seconds after the ignition is turned o ff.

When properly installed, the system can never inadvertently stop your vehicle in traffic or on railroad track s while the vehicle is in operation.
32 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. vrs ® triggered sequence Fifteen seconds after the last door has closed, the in-vehicle LED will begin flashing. This delay is intended to allow you time to distance yourself from your vehicle in the event o f a carjacking.
33 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. disarming the vrs ® T ake the time to f amiliarize yourself with the VRS ® triggering sequence and the disarm procedure . It is important to recognize and identify the VRS ® trigger sequence and know how to disarm it in case o f accidental activation.
