3 © 2009 Directed Electronics Using your system Manual (active) arming The factory default is active arming. Y ou can activate or arm the sys - tem by locking the doors with your factory keyless entry transmitter . When the system arms, you will hear a short siren chirp and see the p arking light s flash once.
4 © 2009 Directed Electronics If any protected entry point (such as a door or a switch-protected trunk or hood) is open, the system will not p assively arm. Additionally , e ac h ti me a s en so r i s t ri gg er e d d ur in g t he ar mi ng co u nt - down, the 30-second count down st a r t s over .
5 © 2009 Directed Electronics Disarming T o disarm the system, unlock the doors using your factory keyless transmitter . The siren sounds twice, and the p arking light s flash twice. If the siren sounds either four or five times when disarming, refer to the Diagnostics section of this guide.
6 © 2009 Directed Electronics V alet mode Y ou can prevent your system from arming, by using V alet Mode. This is very useful when washing the vehicle or having it serviced. In V a l e t Mode the system will not arm, but all convenience functions (door locks, trunk release, etc.
7 © 2009 Directed Electronics Panic mode If you are threatened in or near your vehicle, you can attract atten - tion by triggering the system with your transmitter! If your factory key - less transmitter does not have a p anic button, this system can be programmed by your inst aller to enable a p anic feature (refer to the Programming Options).
8 © 2009 Directed Electronics Nuisance prevention circuitry fi Y our system has Nuisance Prevention Circuitry (NPC). This circuitry prevent s annoying repetitive trigger sequences due to faulty door pin switches or environment al conditions such as thunder , jackhammers, airport noise, etc.
9 © 2009 Directed Electronics Diagnostics The microprocessor at the heart of your system is const antly moni - toring the switches and sensors connected to it. It detect s any faulty switches and sensors and prevent s them from disabling the entire system.
10 © 2009 Directed Electronics T able of zones The number of LED flashes the system uses to identify input s i s r e p - resented by a Zone. The st andard Input assignment s for zones are described below .
11 © 2009 Directed Electronics Programming options Programming options control your system’s normal, operational set- up. Most options do not require additional p a r t s, but some may require additional labor . All programming options must be set by your i n s ta l l e r.
12 © 2009 Directed Electronics 7. Door T rigg er delayed or instant: In th e delayed configurati on the unit will pr ovid e a progressive r esponse if th e door is opened while th e system is armed . The system will chirp and the parkin g ligh ts will flash for a few seconds f ollowed by a full trigg er respon se when the d oor is opened .
13 © 2009 Directed Electronics Glossary of terms Control Module: The brain of your system. Usually hidden under - neath the dash area of the vehicle. It houses the microprocessor which monitors your vehicle and controls all of the alarm s functions.
