The high frequency combined with B inar y Data communication achieves superior range with two-way communication.

When the system arms, fr om the vehicle you will hear a short siren sound, or chirp , and see the parking lights flash once. If the po wer door locks are controlled b y the system, the doors will also lock.
16 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. and the system detects that you have left the v ehicle by opening and closing a door . Whenever the system is in its 30-second passive arming countdo wn, the in-vehicle status LED will flash twice as fast as it does when the system is armed.

After each press of the to reach the next level of security , the remote will emit normal arm notification (1 beep and 3 flashes of the Orange LED).

20 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. 1. F irst press any button on the remote to clear the alarm page. 2 . P ress either the or button again and the H igh Security disarm featur e will be activated. The sir en will be silenced and the system will reset to the armed state.

J ust press for 3-seconds, and you will enter P anic Mode. The siren will sound and the par king lights will flash for the programmed sir en duration.

24 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. T o remote start the vehicle: 1. P ress on the 2-way remote twice within 3 seconds. 2. The parking lights will flash to confirm that the vehicle will attempt to start. 3. In gasoline v ehicles, the engine will start 4 seconds after the parking lights flash.

This feature is useful if the vehicle is being ser viced or stored in an enclosed ar ea.
31 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. shut down inputs This security system uses several inputs to shut do wn the remote start operation of the motor or prevent r emote star t if certain inputs are activ e. The two most important are hood and brake inputs.
32 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. The vehicle doors ar e protected by NPC ™ differently . If your security system is triggered b y an open door for three full cycles, the system will bypass the doors until the trigger ceases.

S tandard input assignments ar e listed in the following table, along with spaces to write in any optional sensors or switches that have been installed.

36 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. remo ved, it may fall out of sync with the control unit and fail to operate the system. T o re-sync the remote simply pr ess several times within range of the vehicle. The alarm will auto- matically re-sync and r espond to the 2-way remotes normally .

If the vehicle is not used (ignition is not turned on) for a one hour period while the system is in V alet ® M ode, the in-vehicle status LED will shut off .

P assive locking allows the v ehicle's doors to lock when the security system passively arms (after the 30-second countdo wn).

The purpose of this feature is to pr otect the vehicle from being stolen at all times, regar dless of whether or not the alarm is armed. If AED is programmed on, the starter of the vehicle will be disabled 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off .

43 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. F ault-Proof Starter Interrupt: An automatic switch controlled by your system that pr events the vehicle ’ s star ter from cranking whenever the system is armed. The v ehicle is never prevented from cranking when the system is disarmed, in V alet ® M ode, or if the starter interr upt switch itself fails.
44 © 2004 directed electronics, inc. W arning Zone Response: Lighter impacts to the vehicle will generate the W arning Zone r esponse. I t consists of several seconds of siren chirps and par king light flashes. Zone: A zone is a separate input that the alarm can r ecognize as unique.
