© 2002 directed electronics, inc. system maintenance The system requires no specific maintenance. Y our remote control is power ed by a small, lightweight 3 volt lithium battery that will last approximately one year under normal use. When the battery weakens, operating range will be reduced and the LED on the remote will dim.

© 2002 directed electronics, inc. and Buttons An optional auxiliary convenience or expansion function that you have added to your system can be activated b y pressing these buttons simultaneously . The auxiliary output controls_________________________.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. passive arming The system also can be programmed to arm itself automatically (called passive arming). If the system is programmed for passive arming, it will automatically arm 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off and the system "sees" you leave the vehicle by opening and closing a door .
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. chirping the siren and flashing the parking lights. Three seconds later , the siren output changes to a continuous blast.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. three times followed b y a long chirp. Zone 4 is no w bypassed. ➤ P ress a fourth time within five seconds: The siren chirps four times followed by a long chirp . Zones 2 and 4 are no w bypassed. ➤ P ress a fifth time within five seconds: The sir en chirps five times followed b y a long chirp.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. disarming T o disarm the system, press . Y ou will hear two chirps, and the parking lights will flash twice. If the pow er locks are connected to the system, the doors will unlock. If the siren chirps either four or five times when disarming, refer to the Diagnostics section of this guide.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. disarming without a transmitter This feature allows you to disarm the security system without the remote transmitter should it be lost, damaged, or disabled. In or der to disarm the system without a remote transmitter , you must have the vehicle ’ s ignition key and know where the V alet button is located.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. silent mode T o temporarily turn off the arm or disarm chirps, use Silent Mode™. S imply press for less than one second before arming or disarming, and the confirmation chirp(s) will be elim- inated for that one operation only .
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. valet mode Y ou can prevent your security system from automatically arming and triggering by using V alet Mode. This is ver y useful when washing the vehicle or having it serviced.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. nuisance prevention® circuitry Y our system has Directed’ s Nuisance P revention ® Circuitry (NPC ® ). It pr events annoying repetitiv e trigger sequences due to faulty door pin switches or environmental conditions such as thunder , jackhammers, airpor t noise, etc.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. d d i i a a g g n n o o s s t t i i c c s s The microprocessor at the heart of your security system is constantly monitoring all of the switches and sensors that are connected to it. It detects any faulty switches and sensors and prevents them from disabling the entir e system.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. disarming diagnostics Extra disarm chirps are the T amper Alert. If four chirps are hear d when disarming, the system was triggered in your absence. If five chirps are heard, a z one was triggered so many times that N uisance P revention ® Circuitry has bypassed that zone.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. table of zones The zone number is the number of LED flashes used by the system to identify that input. The standard input assignments are listed below , along with spaces to write in any optional sensors or switches you have had installed.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. c c o o d d e e h h o o p p p p i i n n g g The receiver and transmitters each use mathematical formulas called algorithms to change their codes each time the transmitter is used. This technology has been developed to increase the secu- rity of the unit.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. h h i i g g h h f f r r e e q q u u e e n n c c y y Y our system transmits and receives at 434 MHz. This provides a cleaner spectrum with less interference and a more stable signal. Enjoy a phenomenal increase in range – ev en in areas with high radio interference.

© 2002 directed electronics, inc. ➤ P anic mode e e n n a a b b l l e e d d /disabled with the ignition on: Some states have laws against siren capability in a mo ving vehicle.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. ➤ Full trigger r esponse 3 3 0 0 or 60 seconds: This determines how long the full triggered sequence lasts. Some states have laws regulating how long a security system can sound befor e it is considered a nuisance.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. ➤ Siren tones and chirp v olume: The output of the Revenger ® Soft Chirp ® siren consists of six differ ent tones in sequence. Any of these tones can be eliminated by your dealer , result- ing in a unique, easily identifiable siren sound.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. v v e e h h i i c c l l e e r r e e c c o o v v e e r r y y s s y y s s t t e e m m ( ( v v r r s s ® ® ) ) The optional VRS ® feature is designed to ensur e t.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. arming the vrs ® T o arm the VRS ® , turn the ignition to the ON position and press the arm button on the remote transmitter for one second. The parking lights will flash and the siren will chirp once. This can be done before driving or while driving the vehicle.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. Fifteen seconds after the siren chirps begin, the siren ’ s output will change to a continuous blast. F rom this point on, when the ignition key is turned off, the VRS ® will immediately turn on the starter kill.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. If the system has entered the triggered sequence (sir en has begun chirping), pressing the disarm button of the transmitter will not disarm VRS ® . T o disarm the VRS ® during a VRS ® trigger sequence: 1. T urn the ignition on.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. Input : A physical connection to the system. An input can be provided by a sensor , pinswitch or through an existing system in the vehicle, such as ignition or courtesy lights. LED : Red light mounted somewhere in the vehicle.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. Zone : A zone is a separate input that the alarm can recognize as unique. Each input to the system is connected to a particular zone.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. whenever the windshield wipers are used. A transmitter function can also be used to turn on your parking and headlights for a programmed time. P ower T runk Release: The channel two output of the system can operate a factory power release for the vehicle ’ s trunk or hatch.
.
© 2002 directed electronics, inc. QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE T o arm using your remote ➤ Y ou can activate, or arm, the system by pressing on your transmitter for one second. When the system arms, you will hear a short siren sound, or chirp , and the parking lights will flash once.
