7 INSTALLING BATTERIES 1. On the bac k of the r emot e co ntr o l, push d own on the door (a s show n ), sl ide t he b atter y cover off , a nd r emo ve the used batt eries. 2. Obtain two (2) new AA alkaline batteries. Ma t c h their +and - marks to t he + and - marks in the b atter y case, then in sert them.
8 2. Locate the 5-digit code for y our DI RECTV ® Re cei ve r . (See page 14.) 3. P o wer on the DIRECTV Receiv er . 4. Slide the MODE switch to t h e DIRE CT V posit ion. 5. Press and hold the MUTE and SELEC T ke ys u nt i l th e gr een ligh t un der th e DIRECTV posit ion flashes twice, then release both keys.
