NOT E: If a door lock or int erior ha ndle on t he slidin g doo r or tailgate is unlocke d, on ly the slidin g door or tailg ate will be u nlock ed.
2 After th e engine is s tarted ( about 1 s eco nd ), all doors with the exception of the driver-s id e door are locked au to ma tic a lly . The central lo cking s witch is located on t h e center sec tio n o f the das hboa rd.
Left -hand indi cator lamp is i llum inated: The driver’s door is locked. Right- hand indicat or lam p is i llum inated: Front-s eat passenger door and rear-seat passenger area/cargo area are locked. Bot h indic ator lamps ar e illu min ated: The entire vehicle is locked.

Do not seat chil d ren less t h an 5 fee t tall or 12 year s and under in the front. The back seat is the safest plac e for child r en. I f the vehicle is not equipped with a back seat, childr en less than 5 feet tall or 12 ye ar s an d un der mus t nev er r ide in t his vehi c le.

Whe n the key is in position 2 in t he ig nition lock, t he warning lam p < lig hts up for abou t 6 s econds; this takes pl ace whether or no t t he driver’ s seat belt i s fastened. Th e warning lamp < mu st go out aft e r abo ut 6s e c o n d s .
2 Fastening Seat Belts 1. Pull the seat belt over the body. The seat belt must not be twis ted or you cou ld be injur ed. 2. P ress the tongue i nto the b uckl e a n d m ake sure th at it is he ard t o engage. 3. T he seat bel t must be tig ht across the bod y.

If th e m a lf u nc t io n in di c a to r la mp 1 does not light u p w hen the key is in positi on 2 in t h e igni- tion loc k, if it flickers or lights up while th e vehi- cle is moving, there might b e a problem in th e ai rbag system.
The air bag is locate d behin d the lining sect ion of the das hboa rd. W ARNING! To re duce t he ris k of in jury whe n the fr ont airba g inflates , it is very important f or the driver to al- ways be in a properly seated p osition and to wear the seat belt.
2 The belt tensioners are located on the th ree-point seat belt s of t he driv er’s an d front pa ssenger seats. The belt tens ioners w ill not operate un less t he key has been turned to position 1 or 2 in the ignition lock.
W ARNING! Airbags can s e riously injure or kill you, esp ecially if yo u are close to the airbag when it deploys. Always wear y our seat belt. Airbags do not replac e seat belts b u t instead supplement the prot ection offe r ed by seat belts .

The fre edom of mov emen t of the peda ls must not be impa ired in a ny way , s uch a s b y fl oormat s. The more cautiously you treat your vehicle during the break-in p eriod , t he m ore satisfied yo u will be with its performance later on.
2 When the engine has passed the break-in period, oil consumption may reach 0.5 % of t he fuel consumption re cord ed in actu al operatin g circ u msta nces. In isolat ed case s an d in arduou s oper ating conditio ns, oil consumption may inc r ease t o 1 % of the fuel consumpti on recorded in actual o per ati n g ci rcumst ances.
1. T ie Down Ri ngs The rings (1 ) ar e used to attach t he load with the help of tensio n belts. Pla ce the te nsion belt around t he load, secur e it on the ri ngs (1) and tie it dow n . W ARNING! Inhalation of exhaust gas is hazardous to your hea lth.
2 NOT E: Use neit her elastic f a stening straps nor nets when lashing d own the load. T hese are only i ntended as ant i-slip prot ection for lighter l oads . 3 To instal l: 1. W ith t he r e ar bench seat fac i ng in the direc tion of travel , insert the legs of the rea r bench seat in the respectiv e seat mounting c ups on t h e fl oor.

3 Place the key in po sition 2 in t he ign ition lo ck. To open the w indow: Keep switch pres sed downward until the window has reac h ed th e desir ed posit ion. To close the window: Keep switch pres sed upward until the window has r ea ched th e desire d posit ion.
Touch-wipe: Press the windshield wiper switch up to th e press ur e point. NOT E: Smears ma y form on the gl as s when the windshiel d wipers are in use. In this case, operate the winds hield w ash er, even in rainy weathe r. Check wiper bla des regularly for damage and contam i nat ion.

If corrosion inhibit o r/antif reeze is present in the cor rect concent ration i n the coolan t, t he coolan t tempe rature w ill be betw een 1 85 °F (+ 85 °C) and 250 ° F (+120 °C), depending o n oper at ing c o nditi ons.
