1.2 Unpacking All the following items should be included in the camer a package. If any i tem is miss ing or appears dam aged, Unpac king contact DXG USA immediately .

Inserting th e battery 2. Getting S tarted This sectio n co vers only basic funct ions. See late r chapte rs for details about advanced functions. 2.1 Installing the batteries The camera can use either standard two AA alkaline Ba tt er ie s or one CR V3 lithium battery (shown).
3. Close the b attery door . Inserting a n SD card Note: The pictur es here show a CR V3 lithium battery . Th e camera can also us e 2 AA alkaline t ype batteries. Be sure the batteries are installed properly . Batteries inserted upside down can damag e the product.
2. Insert an SD card as shown. T urning on for the first time Make sure the gold contac ts are facing up as shown. 3. Close the b attery door . 2.3 Powering on the camera Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds.
2.4 Befor e you start Before you start Before you use y our camera, there are some basic settings you should adjust. 2.4.1 Se tting the d ate and time T o se t the date a nd time: 1. T urn th e camera on as described on pag e 7. 2. Press the men u button to display the menu s creen.

2.6 T aking still pictur es T aking you r first still picture Before taking your first still picture, ensure y ou have read “ Before you start” on page 8. T o take a still p icture: 1. T urn the camera on and make sure it is in photo mode. 2. Use the viewfinder or LCD screen to fra me the picture.
2.8 Connecting to a TV or PC Connecting Read this sectio n to learn how to learn how to connect the camera to a host computer and to a TV . Also le arn how to connect the earp hones for listening to MP3 audio files. 2.8.1 Co nnecting to a TV Connect the camera to a TV as shown.

3. Using the Camera Using the camera buttons Read this sectio n to learn how to use the camera . 3.1 Using the camera buttons All buttons are located on the t op and the back of the camera.

3.2 Using the camera LCD display Use the LCD display to compos e your pictures and videos, review pictures and videos stored in memory , and navigate the menu s ystem. Icons are also displayed on th e LCD display that show the current configuration . 3.

5. Installing the Soft ware and Drivers Drivers 5.1 Drivers Y ou will only need to install a dri ver for the camera if your operating s ystem is W indows 98S E or W indows ME. W i ndows 2000 and W indows XP are plug and play operating sy ste ms a nd do not require a driver to be manually loaded.

SD card capacities The number of pictur es you can take v aries depending on the complexity of the scen e being ph otographed. The minutes of music that y our card can hold dep ends on the rate at which your son gs were recorded. The standard bit rate for MP3 recordings i s 128 Kbps.
