Making conne ctions 11 Connec ting an anten na, cable T V , or satell ite T V box T o connec t an antenna, cable T V , or satellite TV box: • Connect one end of a 75-Ohm, coax ial c able to the RF ja ck on the back of th e TV , then conne ct the other end of the cable to t he antenna or cab le TV wall jack.
12 Making conne ctions Connec ting an HDMI d evice T o connec t an HDMI device: • Connect o ne end of an HDMI cable (not included) to th e HDMI 1 jack on the b ack of the T V , th en connect the othe r end of the cable to t he HDMI O UT jack on the HDMI device.

16 Adjusting t he picture Digital s ub- channels A digi tal TV signal tra nsmits mo r e d a ta th an an ana log signal. This increase in data pr ovides a better picture and sound with less static and inter ference. The increased data capac ity als o lets broad casters fit several channels into the same bandwidth as an analog signal.

20 Changing channel settings Hiding chan nels Y ou can delete channels from the channel list so that your TV skips the channels whe n you press CH /CH . Y ou can still tune to t he hidden channel by using the number buttons. T o hi de a channel: 1 Press MENU .

Adding or chang ing a channe l label If a channel is not already labeled, you can label the channel to make it easier to identify.
22 Setting p arental controls Se tting parental co ntrols P arental controls let you prevent your children fr om watching inappropriate material on TV . When set, parental controls read the rating of the pr ogram (with some ex ceptions, such as news and spor ts) and deny access to progra ms that exce ed the rating s level you selec t.
