2 Getting Sta rted Before you st art usin g thi s access point , please che ck if ther e’s anyth ing missing i n the packag e, and contact your dealer of p urchase to r eclaim a ny missing i tems.
3 a. A ntenna Co nnector This is where you con nect the ant enna. It is a roun d connector (standard reverse SMA ) b. 5V DC This is where you con nect the po wer a dapter. c. WPS/Reset Button Press thi s button an d hold for 20 seconds to reset th e access po int to factory defa ult setti ngs.
4 3. Insert the Edimax CD into y our compu ter’s CD drive. Wh en the Auto Play screen appear s, se lect “Run Autor un.exe. ” Note : If a p opup w indow appea rs asking “Do you want to all ow the followi ng pr ogram to make changes to t his computer ”, please click “Yes” to c ontin ue.
5 6. The setup wizard w ill prom pt you for a p assword. En ter the default password, 1 234 . 7. The setup wizard w ill t hen show the access point ’s IP infor mation.
6 Access Point Mode 1. Select Access Poin t Mode and cl ick “Next”. 2. You will be promp ted to set the SSID of this access point . The SSID w ill be the name o f the access p oint when you connec t to it w irelessly . The default SSID is Edim ax AP .
7 ou will see a final confir mation scr een, listi ng th e settings y ou have selected. If ev eryth ing is cor rect, click “Set ” to contin ue. 5. The device will sa ve your sett ings, then reb oot. Pleas e do not di sconnect or turn off the device duri ng thi s process.
8 2. You will have the option t o change t he password used to access th e device’s con figurati on settings. For first time set up, plea se simply click “Next” wit hout chan ging a nything. 3. The device will sea rch for near by wireless net works to connect t o.
9 6. The device will sa ve your sett ings, then reb oot. Pleas e do not di sconnect or turn off the dev ice duri ng thi s process. 7. After the device re boots, you will see a final cong ratul ation screen. Click “Finish” to co mple te the setup. Repeater Mod e (WiFi Ext ender) 1.
10 3. The device will sea rch for near by wireless net works to connect t o. If you cannot find th e acc ess point you wish to con nect to , click “Scan” to r efresh the list of wireless n etworks. Select the wir eless netwo rk y ou wish to connect to, an d click “Ne xt” to conti nue.

12 Access Point Mode Connect on e port of th e device to your router or xD SL modem. You can n ow connect to th e device through a wi red conne ction by connectin g your computer to i t with an Ethernet cable, or con nect to th e device wirelessl y by searching and conn ecting to t he device na me you set up.
13 Repeater Mod e Position the device in a locati on for optim al wirel ess extension , such as t he middle of your house. You can conn ect to the de vice w irelessl y by searching and conne cting to t he device na me you set u p.
