2 Green On Successful WPS connecti on Flashing WPS in progress Off Off Sleep Mode II. Installation 1. Plug the EW-7438 RPn Air into a pow er socket. The LED will flash red while the system is booting up. The device is ready when th e LED displays on ( red ).
3 3. O pen a web brows er and if you do not au tomatically arrive at the “Get Started” screen shown below , enter the URL http://edi max ext. setup and click “Get Started” to begin the set up process.
4 If you cannot access http://edimaxext.setup , please make sure your computer is set to use a dynamic IP address. For more information please refer to the user manual. 4. Please read the on screen instructions about selecting a good locatio n for your wireless extender and t hen click “N EXT ” to continue.
5 7. When the connect ion test is complet e, click “Apply” to restart the extender. 8. Please wait a moment unt il the extender is ready. 9. A final congratulations scr een will indicate that setup is comple te . The EW -7438RPn Air is working and ready for us e - the LED should display on or flashing blue de pending on your si gnal strength .
6 Android: iOS: 10. Please close the browse r window. Y ou can now conn ect to the extender ’s new SSID on a wir eless device within range such as a comput er, smartphone or tabl et. The password for your Wi-Fi extender ’s SSID is the same as for your router’ s SSID.

Reset the Extender If you experience problems wit h your extender or if you want to chang e the extender to a diffe rent operating mo de, you can reset t he device back to its factory settings. This resets all settings back to d efault. 1. Press and hold the WPS/Reset butto n for at least 1 0 seconds unt il the LED is flashing red .
8 IV. Browser Based Configuration Interface After setup you ca n use the browser based confi guration interface to configure advance d settings. 1. To access the browser based conf iguration inte rface enter http://edimaxext. setup into the URL bar of a browser on a network devi ce which is connecte d to the same Wi- Fi network as the extender.
9 V. WPS If your wireless ro uter/access point supports WPS (Wi- Fi Protected Setup ) then you can use t his method to s etup your wireless extender. 1.
