Introduction MediaGate MG-350HD fully supports HD (High Definition) files that are really clear through HDTV (LCDTV, Normal TV) and can stre am the contents fr om a PC through wireless (802. 11g) or wired LAN, and also has USB host that you can plug an external USB storage .

1. Use as External USB HDD 1.1 Insert Hard Disk 9 Use 3.5” IDE Hard Disk for Desktop. 9 Hard Disk should be “Master”. However, if the Hard Disk s upports “Single” mode, you need to try to set “Single “mode.
1.2 Format Built-in HDD via USB If the built-in HDD is not formatted, PC can not detect the hard disk drive. If so, format the hard disk f irst referring to the following guide. * If the hard disk drive is al ready f ormatted, see “1.3 Copy Data via USB”.
8) Select “ 1. Create Primary DOS Partition ” and press [Enter]. 9) Wait until finishing veri fying the drive integrity. 10) A fter finishing drive integrity verification, type “Y” at “Do you wish to use the maximum available size for a Primary DOS Partition (Y/N)”.
14) Type “ exit ” command at “ C:WINDOWS> ” and press [Enter] for ret urning to windows screen. 15) Unplug the MG-350HDand pl ug again. New volume will be appeared at [My Computer]. Click mouse right button at the new volume and select [Format] .

1.3 Copy Data via US B 1.3 Copy Data via US B It is possible to use as a external USB har d disk drive in case of inserting hard disk into MG-350HD. You can cop y data from yo ur PC to built-in HDD of MG-350HD via USB. It is possible to play media files at the hard disk on TV set.

2. Connect to PC via Network 2.1 Wired LAN Connection When connecting Computer to MG-35 direct ly When connecting with IP Router or Hub √ When you want to play shared multimedia files on network, refer to "3.Shared File Playback (Str eam)".
2.2 Wireless LAN Connection MG-350HD supports two types of wireless st ru cture-Infrastr ucture mode & Ad-Hoc mode. Ad-Hoc Mode 1:1 wireless LAN connection type between wireless adapter and Mg- 350HD without wireless access point. Infrastructure Mode Wireless LAN connection type with Wireless Access Point.
④ Select preferable one out of the scanned wireless stations. *Wireless station information is displayed. -SSID: Name of Wireless Station -Connection Mode: AP Mode (to connect an AP) : Ad-hoc Mode (t o connect wireless adapter) -Channel: Wireless channel used by wireless station ⑤ Information of wireless station will be displayed.
⑥ [WIRELESS] icon is activated. Run the icon, and the PC list on the network is displayed. Access to the preferable PC you want. √ Note: When wireless icon is not activated or not conn ected to wireless station. 1. √ Note: When conn ecting to AP with WEP wireless security If wireless station like AP or Adapter has WEP wireless security , you have to enter WEP key same as AP or wireless adapter. It is po ssible t o enter WEP k ey at “ Wirel ess-II” . Enab le S ecuri ty Mode and then enter WEP Key of AP or wireless adapter.

3. Shared File Playback (Stream) After connecting LAN cable, you have to set network configurations of both Computer and MG-350HD. *It is possible to assign IP address and Subnet Mask of MG-350HD as dynamic or static. 3.1 Windows 98SE, ME 3) After that, the shared folder will be displayed as following picture.
After writing, press [SETUP] again for saving configurations. 9 If you have already been provi ded dynamic IP address from DHCP Server or IP Router on your local area network, you don’t need to write static IP address absolutely. Use ‘DHCP on’ or write IP address & Subnet mask that DHCP Server or IP Router provide.
3.2 Windows 2000 1) Select a folder which you want to share. Right-click the folder and click ‘Sharing’ in pop menu. 2) Check ‘Share this fol der’ and write ‘share name’. For example, “My Movie” 3) Click ‘Permissions’ and check whether “Everyone” account is or not.
6) Check ‘User cannot change pa ssword’ and ‘Password never expires’. 7) Move to [Control Panel>Network and Dial-up Connections], and select Properties of ‘Local Area Connections’ by right click of mouse. 8) Double click ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)’ that you want t o use on your computer.
6) Set the network confi gurat ions of MG-350HD. 9 You have to connect MG-350HD t o TV set for this setup. See “6.1 Connect Video Cable”. Press [SETUP] of remote cont rol for moving to setup screen. On that screen, select ‘DHCP Support Off’ and write IP address & Subnet mask.
3.3 Windows XP 3.3 Windows XP 1) Select a folder which you want to share. Right-click the folder and click ‘Sharing and Security’ in pop menu. 3) After that, the shared folder will be displayed as following picture. 2) Check ‘Share this folder on the net work’ and write ‘Share name’.
. 6) Move to [Control Panel>Network connections] , and select ‘Local area connections’ properti es by right click of mouse. 7) Double click ‘Internet Protoc ol(TCP/IP)’ that you want to use on your computer. 8) Check ‘Use the following IP address’, and write ‘IP address’ & ‘Subnet mask’ that you want t o use.
9) At above number 7) figure, click ‘Advanced’ Tab. Disable ‘Internet Connection Firewall’. 6) Set the network confi gurations of MG-350HD. 9 You have to connect MG-350HD t o TV set for this setup. See “6.1 Connect Video Cable”. Press [SETUP] of remote cont rol for moving to setup screen.

3.4 Windows Vista Before you do “folder sharing”, you need to set up 3 things for Network sharing. 1. Setup of User Ac counts an d Family safety a. Click Start > Settings > Cont rol Panel > Users Accounts and Family safety b. Make sure the account is “Guest”.
2. Disable “ Firewall” a. Click Start > Setting > Control Panel > Securit y > Windows Firewall on / off b. Click at ‘Off (not recommended) 40.
3. Setup of Ne twork and Sharing C enter a. Click Start > Setting > Control Panel > Ne twork and Internet > Netw ork and Sharing Center b. Select “Password Protect ed sharing” and select “Turn of f passwo rd protected sharing”. c. make a folder you want to share.

4. Use as Network Storage (NDAS) √ No te -Recommend to use 100Mbps LAN Card on PC on using wired LAN connection. -Recommend to use IEEE 802.11g (54Mbps ) wireless adapter or Access Point w hen using wireless LAN connection. -NDAS function allows to transfer data to HDD in MG-350HD by wired or wireless LAN without setting data sharing works.
③ NDAS icon is created at right-down corner on desktop windows. Right click the icon and select Register New Device” ④ Write NDAS Device ID and Write Key. They are located on the bottom of MG-350HD. Write your preferable name at NDAS Device Name.
⑦ Please check ‘My Computer’ if Hard Disk in MG-350HD is conceived as Hard Disk Drive of local network. (HDD in M G-350HD looks like external Hard Disk Drive. C:, D: , E: or F: )If you cannot see Hard Disk Drive, please turn off MG-350HD and turn on again.

5. Use USB Host √ Note: How to ej ect the tray of external USB ODD (Optical Disk Drive) Stop playback and press number [3] button in order to eject the tray of external USB ODD. In addition, original DVD title with CSS Lock should not be played when connecting with USB host, but it is possible to play ot her format like XviD.

6. Connect to External AV Device 6.1 Connect Video Cable MG-350HD supports 4 type of video output; “Composit e, S-video, Component, DVI ”. Use video connection t hat your TV supports. Normally, TV supports composite video connect ion, and this package supplies composit e video cable.
6.2 Connect Audio Cable MG-350HD supports 3 type of audio o utput; “Stereo, Coaxial, Opti cal”. Use audio conn ection that y our TV or Audio set supports. Normally, TV supports stereo audio connection, and this package supplies stereo audio cab le.

7. Basic Setup 7.1 Video Setup This is guide for setting video output of MG-350HD. You have to setup MG-350HD’s video output m ode same as TV set’s video input mode. √ When you can not see normal screen after co nnecting video cabl e, check following s, 1.
1080i 1080p 9 NTSC, PAL : Standard of TV Output . Select a proper one for using in your country. < Setup Procedure > ① Turn on MG-350HD and press [SETUP] on Mode Selection screen. M o v e t o ‘ ② Video Out’ icon and press [OK]. Setup box will be displayed under icon menu.
7.2 Audio Setup This is guide for setting audio output of MG- 350HD. You can use Stereo or Digital 5. 1 ch. 9 Analogue/DCPM: Select when you connect the supplied audio cabl es (Red / White) to TV or Audio set directly. 9 Encoded Digital: Select when you want to listen through 5.

7.7 Photo View Setup When playing photo file, it is possible to enable or disable BGM and set the playback interval ti me of each photo files. √ BGM, Mu sic Slide Show Make a 'music' folder (in a small letter not a capital letter at root directory) of built-in HDD and save MP3 files at the f old er.
7.9 Screen Ratio Setup This is guide for setting TV Type. You can use 4: 3 Letter Box, 4:3 Pan Scan, and 16: 9. < Setup Procedure > ① Turn on MG-350HD and press [SETUP] on Mode Selection screen. ② Move to ‘Scr. Rate’ icon and press [OK].
7.10 Auto Play Setup When this Auto Play function is On, MG-350HD play the file continuously form t he time of being stopped. < Setup Procedure > ① Turn on MG-350HD and press [SETUP] on Mode Selection screen. ② Move to ‘Auto Play’ icon and press [OK].
7.11 Internet (How to setup t he Interne t) This is for how to connect MG-350HD to the Internet. ① After turn MG-350HD on, press [SETUP] button and go to [SETUP] page. ② Go to th e 2 nd page and select [INTERNET] icon and press [ENTER] button then you will get the above page.
7.12 i-RADIO Refer fot the below how to set up the “i-Radio” on MG-350HD. √ [ N o t e ] It composes of Shoutcast , Inlive ( live broadcasting list scan ) and UserList. ( save pls, m3u files in “iradio “ folde .). < How to setup > ① After turn MG-350HD on, press [SETUP] button and go to [SETUP] page.
< In case, select [Off] at the server list > √ [ N o t e ] After you made “iradio” folder at the root directory in the HDD of MG-350HD, it shows onl y the list saved in pls, m3 u file. ① Press ◀ key at the main page, select “i-RADIO” icon and press [ENTER] button.
7.13 SKIN With SKIN function, you can make your own GUI of MG-350HD. √ [ N o t e ] Save your own GUI or icon images in “skin1” folder at the root direct ory of MG-350HD. < How to setup > ① After turn MG-350HD on, press [SETUP] button and go to [SETUP] page.
< How to setup > ② At Setup page of SKIN, select [ ON ] of [SKIN Support] and select [SKIN folder]. Press [SETUP] button for saving the configuration. ① Make “skin1” folder and save “GUI ” or “Images” in the folder at the root directory in a HDD of MG-350HD ④ As the above, it supports several font colors.
7.14 Others You can set up for 1) effect sound, 2) screensaver. < How to setup > ① After turn MG-350HD on, press [SETUP] button and go to [SETUP] page. ② Go to the 2 nd page and select [ETC] icon and press [ENTER] button then you will get the above page.
7.15 Protocol [How to set up of Network Protoco l] 1. Function Explanat ion MG-350HD supports 4 types of protocol stream ing through network and it can stream the c ontents (Movie, Audio, Photo) from a ser ver which is located remotely.
2. How to setup? 1) SAMBA (Basic mode) Go to [Setup] => Select [Proto col] => Select [SAMBA]. ① A ② t [SAMBA Server address], select [Auto] or [Manual]. - Auto : MG-350HD scans all SAMBA servers automatically connected in the network group. - Manual : You can indicate the server address you want t o access.
[SAMBA Server Address] is supposed to be enable when you select [Manual] at [SAMBA Server Address] and put the SAMBA ③ server address in. After you complete [Setup], t hen press [Setup] button f or .
After you complete [Setup], t hen press [Setup] butt on for saving ② the configuration and go to the main menu and select [LAN] or [Wireless] then MG-350HD will access a uPNP server which supports uPNP AV protocol and stream the content s from the server.
Put the FTP server address at [FTP Address]. ② Put the u ser ID of th e FTP ③ server a t [FTP I D]. Put the user password of the FTP server at [FTP Password]. ④ Put the port number of the FTP server at [FTP Port]. ⑤ Select whether you want to use “passiv e mode” at [FTP Passive].
5) How to access one of them (protocols)? If you select one of them (protocols), then press [ Setup] butt on on the remote control and go to the main menu and select [LAN] or [Wireless] then you can use one of t hem. Ex) In case, you selected FTP protocol.
7.16 FTP Client 【 FTP Client Setup & Download & Upload 】 < How to set up of FTP Client & access? > 1. What is FTP Client? : FTP Client function can make MG-350HD access to a PC that has FTP Server program runnig and c an download from or upload to the PC.
2) Select [FTP Client Save-To Path] and indicat e the path. -> [FTP Client Save-To Path] is the disk path to save or download the files, so you can indicate the HDD inside or a USB drive. 3) After indicati ng the Disk pat h, press [Setup] button on the re mote control a nd go to the main menu.
6) At the bel ow pop-up, you can put [FTP site n ame, FTP addres s, ID, Password, Port, s elect Passiv e]. Webpage N ☞ ame : The FTP nic k name that MG-350HD acc esses to. You can make a nic k name as you want. FTP Address : FTP Server IP address that MG ☞ -350HD accesses to.
8) If you hav e any probl em to acces s the FTP server (du e to the wron g server configur ation, router, the wrong network co nnection), then th e below pop-up will appear.
[Server lists after you access] Move the curs or to the server lists. 2) Press [Menu] button on the re mote control a nd you can get sub-menu at the bottom sid e. New Server : Add more server lists . Manage : M odify or del ete the server lis t. Disconnec t : Disconnect th e current serv er list connec ted.
3) If you press [Add] button, the n you can add new server lists. 4) If you press [Manage] butt on, then y ou will get a pop -up that shows [Webs ite Name ,FTP Address , P ort No.]. The setup men u of the server lis ts is as below; OK : If you press [OK], then y ou go back to the s erver lists.
9) If you press [Exit], you will go back to the server lists. ======================= =================== ======================= == [How to download / upload the file s after access to the server] 1) Select one o f the server lists an d press [OK]. 2) If you can ac cess successfully , then you will have “Remot e” and “Loc al” page.
5) Select the files you want to download / up load and press [OK] butt on, then it will downloa d / upload automatically . While you are d ownloading / uploading t he files, yo u can use [Menu] button for m ore options . You can find t he menu icons a t the bottom s ide for more op tion.
Trans fer : Start downloa ding / upload ing the files. (Regarding the status of downloading / uploading, there are progress bar, file names, stand- by Queue) Queue : When you download / upl oad the files at the sam e time, you c an control each file with this function.
You can select [Apply All] o n a file or all files. Res ume : The downloa ding can be cont inued from the past end part. Overwrite : Overwriting th e same file at t he Local.
-> Press [Me nu] button on the remote contr ol and select [Connect] at the sub m enu. ☞ There are two way s to download / upload the f iles. -> Press [OK] button on th e remote control. -> Press [Menu] button on th e remote control and sele ct [Transfer].
7.167FTP Server 【 How to setup of FTP Server 】 1. Function Ex planation. Make a MG-350H D as FTP Server and t hen you can ac cess to the MG-350HD fro m a PC. You can download the files from the MG-350HD to the PC or upload the f iles from a PC to t he MG-350HD.
2) FTP Sever Save Path : Set up of the roo t directory (disk ) which will be as a FTP server. After you set up FTP server at MG-350HD an d run a FTP program at a PC, the n you can ac cess to the MG- 350HD and see th e files at the indicated direc tory.
4) Server Passwor d : Set up the pass word that you will us e when you want t o access to the M G-350HD by using FTP pro gram at a PC. The default PASS WORD is [altech] and you can chan ge it as you want. 5) Server Port : Set up the server port that FTP serv er is using.
If you use a rout er or firewall, then you may need to chec k how you can disabl e them with the router supplier. 6) FTP ON : After you set u p all configurat ions, then sel ect [On] at FTP s erver.
* When you pr ess [Info] butto n two times, then y ou will get ‘ FTP Server Status as below; * When you pr ess [Info] butto n three times, the n you will get ‘Disk Status a s below; [Note] It may take time to check Disk Status de pending on the HDD capacity.

8. How to Play(Remote Control) 8.1 Basic S creen Menu 8.1.1 Mode Selection After turning on MG-350HD, you can see mode selection screen. In this screen, you can select HDD(built-in), USB(external USB device), LAN(wired network), WIRELESS(wireless network) You can select one out of them.
8.1.1.2 Wired & Wir eless Network Following example is in case of wired network . Wireless network is same as wired network. ① [Mode Selection] Select ‘LAN’ icon and press [OK]. (I n case of wireless network, sele ct ‘WIRELESS’ icon, ② [PC List on Network] PCs list is displayed on the network.
8.1.2 File Selection Select a file and press [OK] in order to play. Function and Button Descriptions Remote Control Function Descriptions MENU Menu Ico n Menu Icon is displayed including ‘Play one, Play all an d Play-list’. Press again for returning file selection screen.
ALL MEDIA All Media Mode All media files are displayed including movie, music and photo. INFO - Current informat ion of MG-350HD is displayed. TV OUT Video Out Signa l When pressing this button, video output signal is changed repeatedly. (If you can not see normal screen, press this button repeatedly until returning normal screen.

Playback Time Enter your preferable playback ti me with [Number] and press [OK]. VOLUME + Direction ▲ Volume Up Volume Up. *It is not possible to use this button when manual subtitle is displayed while play ing audio file. VOLUME - Direction ▼ Volume Down Volume Down.
8.5 Play Photo File Select a file and press [OK]. When pressing [MENU] while playing a f ile, “Tool Box Menu” is displayed. Tool Box allows using detailed play back function. Function and Button Descriptions Remote Control Function Descriptions MENU Tool Box Tool Box is displayed.
√ Photo Slide Show When play mode is set on ‘Play all(Default value)’, all photo f iles will be played continuously. 8.6 Make a Pla y List You can make your preferable play list fo r registering some files to play list. √ No te After rebooting MG-350HD, registered play list will be clear. ① Select your preferable file for registering wit h [SELECT] or [SELECT ALL].
