5 Installation - Connecting Optional Ice Maker T o W ater Supply T o avoid electric shoc k, which can cause death or se vere personal injury , disconnect the refrigerator from electrical power bef ore connecting a water supply line to the refrigerator .
6 Door Removal and Reversal Instructions NO TE: If you hav e stainless steel doors -- go to the Removing Stainless Steel Doors and Handles Section on page 9. NO TE: The direction in which your refrigerator doors open (door swing) can be reversed, from left to right or right to left, by moving the door hinges from one side to the other .
7 Door Removal and Reversal Instructions (continued) NO TE: Some models ha ve “poc ket” handles , which are recessed into the sides of the door . On these models, only the hinges will need to be reversed. TO REMO VE FREEZER HANDLE: (Handles may be easier to reverse while doors are off.

13 Looking Inside (continued) DOOR ST ORA GE Door bins, shelves, and racks are provided for convenient storage of jars, bottles , and cans. F requently used items can be quickly selected. Some models have door racks or bins that can accommodate gallon-sized plastic drink containers and economy-sized jars and containers.
14 Looking Inside - (continued) CRISPERS (SOME MODELS) The crispers, located under the bottom refrigerator shelf, are designed for storing fruits, vegetables, and other fresh produce. W ash items in clear water and remo ve e xcess water before placing them in the crispers.
15 Ice Service If your refrigerator has an automatic ice mak er , it will provide a sufficient supply of ice for normal use. Dur ing the initial startup of your refrigerator , how ev er , no ice will be produced dur ing the first 24 hours of operation.
16 Food Storage & Energy Saving Ideas FOOD ST ORA GE IDEAS Fresh Food Storage • The fresh f ood compar tment should be kept betw een 34° F and 40° F with an optimum temperature of 37° F . • A v oid ov ercrowding the refrigerator shelv es. This reduces the circulation of air around the f ood and results in une ve n cooling.
17 Normal Operating Sounds & Sights A. Evaporator The flow of refrigerant through the evaporator may create a boiling or gurgling sound. B. Evaporator Fan Y ou may hear air being f orced through the refrigerator by the evaporator fan.
18 Care & Cleaning K eep your refrigerator and freezer clean to pre v ent odor build-up . Wipe up any spills immediately and clean both sections at least twice a year . Never use any type of scouring pads, brushes, abrasiv e cleaners or strong alkaline solutions on any surf ace.
