Important Safety Information 6 • Do not use the mains cable to pull the plug out of the socket. • Repairs to the appliance should only be carried out by qualified per- sonnel. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunction.
7 3 Gener al Information • To pr event creasing do not exceed the maximum load stated in the progr am table. • When using fabric conditioning sheets, we recommend the conditioning sheet is pinned (using a safety pin) to an article of laundry and placed in the tumble dryer .
8 2 Disposal P ackaging • Dispose of the packaging material correctly . All packaging materials are envir onmentally friendly and can be disposed of without any danger to the environment. • The external plastic covering and bags inside are made of P olyethylen (marking >PE<).
9 2 Envir onmental protection tips • Y our laundry will become light and soft in the laundr y dryer even with- out a soft rinsing agent. • Loosen your laundry before loading it into the dryer . This helps to pre- vent lengthy running times and creasing.
Environmental protection tips 10 • Observe the maximum load instructions. Whenever possible, dry full loads. • Choose the right drying progr am for the type and quantity of laundry .

13 Note : The indicators ar e extinguished only after the programme is switched off. 14 Brief oper ating instructions • Ensure the laundry is well spun befor e tumble drying. • Prepar e the laundry . • Load the laundry . • Select the drying progr am on the progr am selector . • Press the AUDIBLE SIGNAL, SPECIAL CARE or QUICK button if req ui re d? • Start the pr ogram.
15 Drying Pr epare the laundry • To pr event tangled bundles of laundry: Close zip fasteners; button-up bed linen and pillow cases; tie-together loose tapes, e.g. aprons. • Empty all pockets. • Remove all metal objects (i.e. paper clips, pins, etc.
Drying 16 • AUDIBLE SIGNAL button During the crea se-protection phase (immedi- ately after the drying phase), an acoustic sig- nal is sounded at intervals (see "End of drying process"). • SPECIAL CARE button This progr am operates with r educed heat.
Drying 17 Removing laundry or loading laundry when necessary Y ou can interrupt the drying process at any time to remove some of the laundry or to add more laundry . 0 Open the door . 1 Caution! The laundry and the drum may be hot. 0 Remove or add more laundry .
Drying 18 Empty the water r eservoir 1 Caution! The condensed water is not suitable for drinking or for use with foodstuffs. The water reservoir should be emptied after every drying pr ogramme. This avoids interruption of a progr amme when the water reservoir is full.
Drying 19 Clean the fluff filter To ensur e efficient operation of the tumble dryer , clean the fluff filter after each drying progr am. Also check whether ther e are any r emnants or fluff from the washing in the drum; r emove immediately . 0 Press the catch of the filter lid down- wards.

If they are one of the following symbols should be present on the car e label: R Normal drying S Drying wit h special care (pr e ss the SPECIAL CARE button!) Q This fabric can be tumble dried.
23 Cleaning and maintenance Cleaning the filter ar ea 1 Important! When the FILTER display lights, it is essential to clean the fluff filter . Otherwise your dryer might suffer damage. A small amount of fluff may reach the ar ea around the filter in spite of the fluff filter .
24 Cleaning the condenser 1 Important! When the CONDENSER display lights, it is essential to clean the condenser . Otherwise your dryer might suffer damage. In addition ener gy consumption will be increa sed if the condenser unit is covered with fluff.
Programming possibilities 25 Pr ogramming possibilities The electronic contr ol system of your laundry dryer provides you with the possibility to adapt some functions of the dryer permanently to your requir ements.
26 If the water quality in your household deviates strongly fr om normal and you wish to adapt the drying ex tent recognition of the dryer to your water quality: 1) Bring the pr ogram selector to the setting LIGHT . 2) Hold the DELAY TIMER button depressed for five seconds.
Something not working? 27 Something not working? If the tumble dryer is not working corr ectly please carry out the follow- ing checks before calling out an engineer .
Something not working? 28 The drying result is unsatis- factory; the washing is still damp. The water har dness in your area does not corre- spond to the st andard setting of the appliance. Reprogram the standard setting, eg. H0 instead of H1 , for dryer washing (see chapter “ Progr amming P ossibilities “ .
29 If after these checks, the tu mble dryer still does not wo rk, contact your local AEG Service Force Centr e. Please note that it will be necessary to provide pr oof of purchase for any in-guarantee service calls.
30 Service & Spar e Parts If after carrying out the nece ssary checks there is still a fault with your appliance please contact your local AEG Service Force Centr e. In guarantee customers should ensur e that the s uggested checks have been made as the engineer will make a charge if the fault is not a mechanical or electrical breakdown.
Guarantee Conditions 31 Guar antee Conditions AEG offer the following guarant ee to the first purc haser of this appliance. 1. The guarantee is valid for 12 months commencing when the appliance is handed over to the first r etail purchaser , which must be verified by purchase invoice or similar documentation.

Before rever sing the door , isolate the appliance from the mains supply . Proceed as follows to r everse the door opening direction: 0 Un-screw the scr ews A on the front panel of the appliance.
38 0 Take-out the latched catch covering J and pull-off the plug. 0 Connect the door catch H and the catch covering J on the respective opposite side to the plug, insert into the break-out and screw-down or latch into position.
