Operating Instructions 7 Child Safety This appliance is designed to be operated by adults. Children should not be allowed to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance. Pets and childr en have been known to climb into washing machines.
Operating Instructions 8 2 Disposal Packagi ng Dispose of the packaging material correctly . All packaging materials are envir onmentally friendly and can be disposed of without any danger to the environment. The external plastic covering and bags inside are made of polyethyl- ene (marking >PE<).

Operating Instructions 10 Contr ol Panel Pr ogram Selector The progr am selector defines the nature of the washing cycle (e.g. water level, drum movement, number of rinses, spin speed) to suit the type of washing, as well as the wash temperatur e. OFF Switches the washing machine off, the machine is switched on at all other positions.
Operating Instructions 11 DELICATES Main washing cycle for delicates at 30° C or 40° C. WOOLLENS / P (Hand W ashing) Main washing cycle (cold to 40° C) for machine washable woollens as well as for hand washable woollen fabrics and silk with the ï (hand washing) care symbol.
Operating Instructions 12 QUICK WASH Shortened main washing cycle for lightly soiled washing. STAIN For treating heavily soiled or stained washing. (In-wash stain tr eatment is washed in from the m compartment at the optimal point in the progr am cycle.
Operating Instructions 13 Befor e Using for the First Time 0 1. Pull the detergent dispenser dr awer out a short distance. 2. P our about 1 litre of water thr ough the detergent dispenser drawer into the washing machine. When this has been done, the ÖKO lock can function correctly .

Operating Instructions 15 Which Deter gent? T o ensure you obtain the best wash results fr om your appliance, it is important to use the right detergent in your everyday wash, and only detergents r ecommended for use in automatic machines.
Operating Instructions 16 And in which form? Not only are ther e different types of deter gent, but they are also avail- able in different forms. Whether you choose a powder or liquid in traditional or compact form, is down to per sonal choice. Tr aditional Powders P our the powder directly into the dispenser drawer .
Operating Instructions 17 How much Deter gent and Fabric Softener ? The amount to be used depends on the load: 3 If the detergent manufactur er does not make any specifications for small loads, use a third less for half loads, and for very small loads only use half of the amount of washing powder recommended for a full load.
Operating Instructions 18 Running a W ash Cycle Brief Instructions A washing cycle consists of the following steps: 0 1. Set the correct washing progr am: select the program and the temper ature with the pr ogram selector select any program options if r equired 2.
Operating Instructions 19 Setting the W ashing Progr am 3 See "Progr am Tables" for a suitable pr ogram, corr ect temperatur e and possible additional progr ams to suit the type of washing. 0 Set the progr am selector to the desired pr ogram and the desir ed temperatur e.
Operating Instructions 20 Setting the Delay Timer 0 If necessary set the delay timer: press the DELA Y TIMER button repeatedly until the desired time delay is displayed in the multi-display , for example 12h for a 12 hour delay start of the progr am.
Operating Instructions 21 Adding Detergent / Conditioner 3 For instructions concerning detergents and conditioner s see "Detergents and Conditioner s". 0 1. Open the detergent dispenser drawer: press in the flap on the dr awer so as to be able to grasp the handle (1), pull out the drawer (2).
Operating Instructions 22 Starting the W ashing Progr am 0 1. Check whether the water tap is open. 2. Start the washing progr am: press the ST ART / PAUSE button. The washing progr am is started, or starts at the end of the time delay set. 3 If the DOOR indicator flashes red when the ST ART/PAUSE button is pressed, the door is not pr operly closed.

Do not use household furniture polish or abrasive cleaner s to clean the panel and operating parts. 0 Wipe over the operating panel with a damp cloth. Use warm water . Operating Instructions 28 What to do when 3 The whistling noise when spinning may be different to your prevous washing machine which is due to the modern drive system. T rouble Shooti ng If you call out an engineer and the fault is listed here, a char ge is levied even if the appliance is in guarantee.
Operating Instructions 29 Washing machine vibrates during op era- tion or is unstable. The machine is not level. Adjust the feet accor ding to the installation and connec- tion instruction. There is only very little wash- ing in the machine (e .g. only a bath robe).
Operating Instructions 30 Washing has not been spun sufficiently , there is water left in the drum. Erro r code (2 appear s. Drain hose is kinked. Remove kink. Drain hose to high. Check installation instructions. Drain p ump is blocked. Switch off the machine and pull the plug out of the socket.
Operating Instructions 31 If the W ashing Results are not Satisfactory If the washing turns greyish and limescale deposits ar e present in the drum Insufficient washing powder has been added. Incorrect washing powder was used. Stains were not pretr eated.
Operating Instructions 32 Carrying out an Emer gency Emptying If the washing machine no longer pumps out the water an emergency emptying must be carried out. If the washing machine is located in a room in which below freezing temperatur es might occur , emergency emptying must be carried out if danger of freezing occur s.
Operating Instructions 33 When the W ater is Completely Drained: 7. Push and twist the plug firmly back into the emergency emptying hose. 8. Push the emergency emptying hose back in a little and let it catch on to the holder . 9. Put on the flap and close.
Operating Instructions 34 Unlocking the Door in an Emer gency If the door cannot be opened (e.g. due to a faulty door lock or due to a power cut during the washing progr am), it can be opened using the emergency unlock featur e.
