6 THE COOLING FAN FOR THE CONTROLS Your appli ance has a co oling fan f itted behin d the controls to pre vent them fr om overheat ing. The c ooling fan will com e on im m ediatel y when the grill is s witched on and after a s hort tim e when the oven is in use.
7 WHEN FIRST SWITCHING ON The tim er m ust be s et to m anual opera tion bef ore the fan oven can be opera ted. T his m ust be done whenever the ap pliance is s witched off at the wall or when there has been a po wer failur e. For instructio ns on how to set the tim er see page 9.
8 COOKWARE Baking tra ys, oven dishes etc., sh ould not be p laced directl y against t he grid c overi ng the f an at th e back of the oven . Do not use baking tra ys larger t han 30c m x 35cm (12” x 14” ) as th ey will r estrict the c irc ulatio n of he at and ma y affec t perform ance.

13 WARNING – Accessibl e parts becom e hot when the grill is in us e. Keep children away. USES OF THE DUA L GRILL The grill is sit uated i n the top cavit y com partm ent. The gr ill is a dual c ircu it gril l which m eans that the f ull area of the grill or th e centre s ectio n onl y can be used.
14 THE GRILL PAN AND HANDLE The grill pan has a rem ovab le hand le. To insert the handl e, press the b utton on the ha ndle with the thumb and pi vot the handl e sligh tl y upwards inserting t he lip into t he widest part of the brac k et. Move the handle to wards the left, l ower into pos ition and rele ase the bu tton.
15 · The grill pa n grid is re vers ible. T his is usef ul if you wan t to cook f oods of var ying thic k nesses . As a general rule, bread f or toasti ng sho uld be placed on the grid i n the ‘ high’ positio n in th e gril l pan. Foods such as chic ken pi eces or chops m ay be grille d using the grill ing grid in the low position.

17 USES OF THE MA IN OVEN The Fan o ven is partic ularl y suitab le f or c ook ing larger qua ntities of food or for week end or c elebrat ion m eals. The adva ntages of Fan oven co oking ar e: PREHE A TI NG The Fan o ven qu ick ly reaches i ts tem peratur e so it is not usually necess ary to preheat the ove n.
18 TO FIT THE MA IN OVEN SHELVES There ar e 7 she lf posit ions in the oven. Shelves ar e num bered f rom the bottom upwards. The shelves should be fitted with t he str aigh t rods upperm ost on the f ram e and the f orm s towards the back of the ove n.
19 The oven tem peratures ar e int ended as a gui de onl y. It m ay be nec essar y to incr ease or decrease the temper atures b y a further 10°C t o suit i ndividu al pref erences and req uirem ents. Note: Shelf posit ions are cou nted f rom the bottom of the oven.

21 USES OF DEFROST FEA TURE This Fan oven f unction enab les you to def rost m ost foods without heat faster than som e c onvention al methods as the ove n fan c irculates air aro und the food. It is part icular ly suit able f or delic ate fr ozen foods which are to be ser ved c old e.
22 Before clean ing the applian ce a lw ays allow the cooling fan for the controls to cool the appliance down before switching off the electric ity supply. CLEANING MATERI ALS Before us ing an y cleani ng m aterials on your applianc e, check that t he y are suita ble and t hat t heir use is rec omm ended b y the m anufac turer.
23 CARE OF STAYCLE AN SURFACES The bac k panel of the f an ov en is c oated with a Staycle an finish. T his shoul d not be c leaned manuall y. Aerosol clean ers must n ot be u sed on Sta yclean surfaces and mu st no t come into conta ct wit h elements or the door seal, as this may cause damage.
24 · It is NOT nec essar y to add wat er to a m eat tin when roasting. The water a nd the f at juices from the joint creat e exces sive spl attering during cook ing – even at norm al tem peratures, as well as causing cond ensat ion. · Coverin g joints during c ook ing will also preven t splashing onto the interi or sur faces .
25 If the door glass panel becomes chipped or has deep scratche s the glass w ill be weakened and must b e repl aced t o p reven t the possibility of the panel shattering. Please cont act your local S ervice F orce Centre who w ill be pleased to advise furth er.
26 Please carr y out the followin g check s on your applianc e bef ore calli ng a Ser vice E ngineer . It m ay be that th e problem is a s im ple one which you can sol ve your self with out the expe nse of a s ervic e call.
27 The ov en light fails to illuminate. The oven light bu lb m ay need replacin g see page 2 6. If the main oven is set f or autom atic cook ing t he lig ht will illum inate when the co ok tim e begins . The oven fan is noisy. Check that the o ven is l evel.

33 PREPARING CABINET FOR FITTING OF OVEN · Make s ure the sp ace bet ween t he c abinets is the correc t size for the appl iance to be fitte d (Ref . Fig. 5 & 6). · The plin th board s pan ning th e space into whic h the app liance is to be ins talled shou ld be rem oved.
34 · Check that the m ounting brack ets are le vel. The y can be adj usted if nec essar y by us ing the extra holes at the ends of the brac kets . Once th e brack ets are level, dri ll a p ilot hole throu gh the central ho le in the brac k et and f it the rem ainin g screw.
