6 THE COOLING FAN FOR THE CONTROLS Your appli ance has a co oling fan f itted behin d the controls to pre vent them fr om overheat ing. The c ooling fan will com e on im m ediatel y when the grill is switc hed on and af ter a shor t tim e when either of the ovens are i n use.
7 WHEN FIRST SWITCHING ON The tim er m ust be s et to m anual opera tion bef ore the main f an ove n can be o perat ed. T his m ust be done whenever the ap pliance is s witched off at the wall or when there has been a po wer fai lure. For instructio ns on how to set the tim er see page 9.
8 COOKWARE Baking tra ys, o ven dishes etc., sh ould not be plac ed directl y against t he grid c overi ng the f an at th e back of the m ain oven. Do not use baking tra ys larger t han 30c m x 35cm (12” x 14” ) as th ey will r estrict the c irc ulatio n of he at and ma y affec t perform ance.

13 WARNING – Accessibl e parts becom e hot when the grill is in us e. Keep children away. USES OF THE GR ILL The grill is sit uated i n the T op Oven c om partm ent. The gr ill is a dual c ircu it gril l whic h m eans that the f ull area of the grill or th e centre s ectio n onl y can be used.
14 THE GRILL PAN AND HANDLE The grill pan has a rem ovab le hand le. To insert the handl e, press th e button on the ha ndle with the thumb and pi vot the handl e sligh tl y upwards inserting t he lip into t he wides t part of the brac k et. Move the handle to wards the left, l ower into pos ition and rele ase the bu tton.
15 · The grill pa n grid is re vers ible. T his is usef ul if you wan t to cook f oods of var ying t hick nesses . As a general rule, bread f or toasti ng sho uld be placed on the grid i n the ‘ high’ positio n in th e gril l pan. Foods such as chic k en pieces or chops m ay be grille d using the grill ing grid in the low position.

17 USE OF THE TOP OVEN The T op oven is the s maller of the t wo ove ns. The T op oven is a co nvention al ov en, i.e . without a fan. It is c onv enient wher e sm aller quantit ies or conveni ence f oods ar e being cook ed.

20 USES OF THE MA IN FAN OVEN The Main Fan ov en is partic ularl y suit able f or cook ing larger qua ntities of food or for week end or c elebrat ion m eals. The adva ntages of Main F an o ven cook ing ar e: PREHE A T I NG The Main Fan ov en quic kl y reaches its tem per ature so it is not usually necess ary to preheat the oven.
21 TO FIT THE MA IN F AN OVEN SHELVES There ar e 7 she lf posit ions in the oven. Shelves ar e num bered f rom the bottom upwards . The shelves should be fitted with t he str aigh t rods upperm ost on the f ram e and the f orm s towards the back of the ove n.
22 The oven tem peratures ar e int ended as a gui de onl y. It m ay be necessar y t o inc rease or decreas e the temper atures b y a further 10°C t o suit i ndividual pref erences and req uirem ents. Note: Shelf posit ions are cou nted f rom the bottom of the ov en.

24 USES OF DEFROST FEATURE This Main Fan oven f unction e nables you to defr ost most f oods without h eat fas ter th an s om e conventi onal m ethods as the o ven f an circul ates a ir around th e food. I t is p artic ularl y suita ble f or delic ate frozen foods which ar e to be ser ved cold e.
25 Before clean ing the applian ce a lw ays allow the cooling fan for the controls to cool the appliance down before switching off the electric ity supply. CLEANING MATERI ALS Before us ing an y cleani ng m aterials on your applianc e, check that t he y are suita ble and t hat t heir use is rec omm ended b y the m anufac turer.
26 CLEAN ING THE TOP OVEN ROOF The grill elem ent is hi nged to m ake cleani ng the oven roof eas ier. Switch off the appliance fr om the electric ity supply before c leaning and ensure the oven is cold. 1. Remove the wire work side runners . See p age 28.

Loosen the t wo scre ws usi ng a Pozidr iv e screwdri ver. 3. Holding th e door glass secur ely in place wit h on e hand rem ove the screws a nd was hers with the other han d.
28 TO CLEAN THE INNER GLASS DOOR The inner glass door is not rem ovab le. C lean usi ng hot soapy water or Hob Brite and a s oft clot h. DO NOT use abr asives as the y ma y dam age the glas s or seal.
29 COOKING TO REDUCE SOILAGE · Cook at the recomm ended t em peratures. Hi gher temper atures dur ing roas ting will inc reas e soilage. T ry cooking at lower tem per atures for an increased le ngth of tim e, you will sa ve en ergy and of ten the join t is m ore tend er.

31 The ov en light fails to illuminate. The oven l ight bu lb m ay need r eplacin g see page 29. If the m ain f an oven is set f or autom atic c ook ing t he light wil l illum inate when the c ook tim e begins. The oven fan is noisy. Check that the o ven is l evel.
