6 Gener al safety • Repairs to the washing machine may only be carried out by qualified/ authorised service engineers. • Never use the appliance when the el ectrical cable is damaged o r the control panel, worktop or plinth ar ea are damaged to such an extent that the inside of the app liance is openly accessible.

10 Befor e the first wash 1. Open the detergent dr awer . 2. P our approx. 1 litr e of water through the deter gent drawer into the washing machine. This closes the water container when the next progr amme is started and the economy valve can function pr operly .
11 Running a wash cycle Opening the door/l oading washing 1. Open the door: pull the handle on the door . When the appliance is switched on , the DOOR and ST ART/P AUSE indica- tors show whether the door can be opened: 2. Separate washing and load loosely .

13 Changing the spin speed/selecting rinse hold The washing machine suggests the maximum permitted spin speed suitable for the selected pro- gramme. Y ou can reduce this spin speed: To do this, pr ess the Spin/RINSE HOLD button repeatedly until the r equired speed is indicated.
14 Activating/deactivating RINSE+ If RINSE+ is activated, two additional rinse cycles take place with the progr ammes CO TTONS/LINEN, EASY -C ARES/EASY IRON, DELICATES and RINSE. RINSE+ remains permanently saved – even after the appliance has been switched off.
15 Starting a pr ogramme 1. Check that the tap is turned on. 2. Press the ST ART / PAUSE button. The progr amme is started or will start after the delay timer has counted down. During the wash progr amme the curr ent stage of the progr amme will be shown in the progr amme progr ess display .
16 If RINSE HOLD has been selected: Following a rinse hold DOOR and END will illuminate in the progr amme progr ess display . Firs t the water must be drained: – Either turn the pr ogramme selector .
17 Cleaning and car e Important: Do not use furnitur e cleaning pr oducts or aggressive clean- ing agents to clean the appliance. Wipe over the control panel and housing with a damp cloth. Deter gent dr awer The detergent dr awer should be cleaned regularly .
18 What to do if... Remedying small faults yourself If the progr amme progr ess display indicates one of the following fault codes during operation: – END flashes 1x (pr oblem with water inlet), – END flashes 2x (pr oblem with water outflow), – END flashes 4x (door open), please consult the following table.
19 Washing has not been spun. Only a few large items of washing in th e drum. Always load the drum as full as possible. Mix large and small items. Water is running out from under the washing machine. The inlet hose screw con- nection is leaking. Tighten the inl et hose.
20 If the wash result is not satisfactory The washing is grey a nd there ar e limescale deposits in the drum • Too little detergent was used. • An incorr ect detergent was used. • Individual stains were not pr e-treated. • The progr amme or temper ature was not set properly .
21 Carrying out an emer gency drain 1 War n in g! Prior to carrying out an em ergency drain, switch off the washing machine and remove the power plug from the power point. War n in g! The water that comes out of the emer gency drain hose may be hot. There is a risk of scalding.
22 Dr ain pump The dr ain pump is maintenance-free. It is only necessary to open the pump cover if there is a malfunction and water is no longer being pumped out, e.g. if the pump wheel is blocked. Before loading the machine, please always ensure that ther e ar e no for- eign bodies present in the pockets or in between the items to be washed.
23 Disposal 2 Packaging material The packaging materials are envir onmentally friendly and can be r ecy- cled. The plastic components are id entified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the pa ckaging materials in the appropriate container at your local waste disposal facilities.

25 Installation and connection instructions 1 Safety information concerning installation • This washing machine cannot be built-in . • Before using for the fir st time, check the appliance for damage sus- tained while it was being transpor ted. Do not under any cir cumstanc- es connect an appliance that is dama ged to the mains.
26 Installing the appliance T ransporting the appliance 1 War n in g: The washing machine is very heavy . There is a risk of injury . Exercise car e when lifting the appliance. • Do not lay the washing machine on its front nor on its right side (as seen from the f ront).
27 3. Remove both plastic caps sideways. 3 Special spanner A and sealing caps B (2 units) and C (1 unit) come with the appliance. 4. Use special spanner A to r emove screw D and the compr ession spring. 5. Turn sealing cap C upside down as shown in the illustr ation.
28 • If the location in which the applianc e is to be installed is fitted with small-format tiles, put a rubber ma t (available in the shops) under the appliance. If the appliance is to stand on a base: In order for the appliance to be se- cure on the base, fixing plates*) must be mounted, into which the appliance is inserted.
29 Electrical Connection Any electrical work r equired to i nstall this appliance should be car ried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. 1 WARNI NG – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. The manufacturer declines any liabi lity should these safety measur es not be observed.
30 P ermanent Connection In the case of a permanent connection it is necessary that you install a double pole switch between the appl iance and the electricity supply (mains), with a minimum gap of 3 mm between the switch contacts and of a type suitable for the requir ed load in compliance with the current electrical regulations.
31 W ater inlet A 1.35 m long pressur e hose is supplied with the appliance. If a longer inlet hose is r equir ed, only hoses fr om the manufactur er are to be used.
32 Wa te r Dra i na g e The appliance dr ain hose should hook into a standpipe, the hook in the drain hose is formed using the plas tic “U-Piece“ supplied. The standpipe should have an internal diameter of approximately 38 mm (see dia- gram) thus ensuring ther e is an ai r break between the dr ain hose and standpipe.
33 Pumping heights of over 1 metr e The washing machine’s dr ain pump is ab le to pump water to a height of 1 metre, calculated fr om the surface on which the appli ance is installed. Important! If pumping height is over 1 metr e malfunctions and dam- age to the appliance may arise.
