4 P R E P AR A T I O N F O R U S E Unpacking and Set Up • This carton contains the main unit, two speakers, and a remote control handset. Carefully remove all the components from the carton and remove all packing materials form the components. Make sure nothing is accidentally discarded with the packing materials.

6 Power Source This system is designed to operate on 120 VAC 60Hz house current onl y . Connecting this system to any other power source may cause damage to the system and such damage is not covered by your warranty. 8 Connecting The Speakers Note: Always connect the speakers before switching the power ‘ On ’ , and never operate the system without the speakers properly connected. The speaker cables and the speaker terminals are color-coded. • Connect the Red wires to the Red terminals.
9 Auxiliary Input Jacks This system includes AUX R/L Jacks. These jacks allow you to connect external audio equipment to this system and listen to the sound from the external equipment through the speakers of this system.

13 OPER ATING INSTRUCTIONS • Make sure that you have fully extended the FM antenna wire. • Make sure that you have removed the battery spacer from the remote control handset. • Make sure that the system is connected to an AC outlet that is always “live”.
14 MUTE Button Press the MUTE button on the front panel or the remote control to shut off the speakers temporarily, for example, to answer the telephone. The sound stops and the MUTE indicator appears in the display. Press the MUTE button again to cancel the mute function and restore the sound.
15 S e t t i n g T h e C l o c k Note : The clock can only be set at AUX mode, or when power is ‘ Off ’. 1.) Press the PROG ( PROGRAM ) /MEMO. button . “ 12 H ” will begin flashing in the display indicating that the clock is set for “ American ” 12-hour time.
16 L i s t e n i n g T o T h e R a d i o 1.) Press the STANDBY button to turn the unit ‘ On ’. If necessar y , press the FUNCTION button to select the Tuner mode. The main display turns ‘ On ’ . and shows FM 87.5 MHz . 2.) Press the STOP/BAND button to switch between FM and AM bands if necessar y.
17 Hints For Better Reception FM : The FM lead wire antenna on the back panel should be extended to its full length. You may also have to vary the direction of this antenna until you find the position that provides the best reception. AM : The AM bar antenna is inside the cabinet of the main unit.
18 Pre-setting Stations In The Tuner Memory This system includes a 20 station preset memor y . You can store up to 10 FM stations and 10 AM stations in the tuner memory for immediate recall. The procedure for storing stations in memory is as follows: 1.
19 Auto Preset Function This model includes an Auto-Preset feature which you can use to automatically enter 10 strong FM and AM stations in the tuner preset memor y. Note: This feature is useful if you live in a rural area with a limited number of stations.

21 4.) The disc will spin for a few seconds as the player reads the disc. Then the disc will stop and the display will show the total number of tracks on the disc. 5.) Press the PL A Y/ PA USE button to begin playback on track 1. Track number “ 0 1 ” appears in the display and the Play indicator comes ‘ On ’.
22 SKIP/Search ( / ) Controls • During playback press the or buttons repeatedly to skip forward or back to higher or lower numbered tracks. Playback will start at the beginning of the selected track. • To search within a track for a specific musical passage depress and hold the or buttons.
23 REPE AT Playback Y ou can program the player to continuously repeat a single track or the entire disc. The Repeat mode can be selected while the disc is playing or while the disc is stopped. Single Track Repeat Select the track to be repeated and then press the PL AY MODE/MEMO UP button once .

27 ALARM Function You can use the alarm function to wake you to the Tune r, or your favorite CD. To adjust the Wake Up time: 1.) Press the DISPL AY button until ALARM indicator is flashing on the display. 2.) Press the PROG ( PROGRAM ) /MEMO. button W ithin 3 seconds .
28 Wake To Tuner Tune to the desired radio station and adjust the volume to the level you want to hear in the morning when the alarm comes on. Press the STANDBY button to shut the system ‘ Off ’. At the selected wake up time the radio will turn ‘ On ’.
29 SLEEP Timer This system includes a programmable Sleep Timer that allows you to fall asleep to between 10 and 90 minutes of music and then shuts the power ‘ Off ’ automaticall y. To operate the sleep timer 1.) Turn the system ‘ On ’ and operate either the Tuner or CD function as usual.
