EN - 8 - NO TE • We do not recommend the use of univ ersal remote controls. Not all of the functions may be controlled with a univ ersal remote control. If you decide to use a univ ersal remote control with this unit, please be aware that the code number gi ven may not operate this unit.
IF YOU HA VE A J A CK ON THE W ALL Connect the TV to the w all-mounted antenna jack with an RF cable (commercially av ailable). IF Y OU HA VE A WIRED CABLE Connect the TV to the wired antenna cable. • Before plugging the antenna into the ANT jack of the unit, check that the pin is not bent.
• If your own equipment is monaural (has only one Audio jack), connect the Audio cable to A UDIO L jack of this unit. • If you connect VIDEO jack and S-VIDEO jack simultaneously , the S-VIDEO jack is giv en priority ov er the VIDEO jack. EN - 10 - Y ou can connect this unit to your o wn Audio/V ideo equipment.

EN - 12 - AU TO CHANNEL PR OGRAMMING As the initial setting, this unit has memorized all channels, including the ones not av ailable in your area. This feature automatically puts only a vailable channels into the memory . 1 Press [SETUP] then press [ K ] or [ L ] to point to “CHANNEL SET UP” .
• Shaded buttons are used for follo wing operation. The unit’ s picture controls, brightness, contrast, color , tint and sharpness, are preset to factory specifi- cations. Although they are usually the best, you may need to make some further adjustments for a more natural looking image.
EN - 14 - Y ou can vie w specially labeled (cc) TV programs, movies, ne ws and pre-recorded tapes with either a dialogue caption or text display . CAPTION mode: Y ou can watch dramas, mo vies and news while captioning the dialogues and the contents of news.

EN - 16 - 6 Press [SETUP] to e xit the menu. • To change the rating, the TV must be turned to an unprotected program. – 17 – EN • NEVER play back the follo wing discs. Otherwise, the unit may result in malfunction. D VD-RAM / CD-i / Photo CD / V ideo CD / DTS-CD / D VD with region codes other than 1 or ALL / CD.

GETTING ST AR TED T urn on the power of amplif ier and any other compo- nents, if necessary . 1 Press [PO WER] then the power will turn on. 2 Open the disc door manually . 3 Inser t a disc with the label f acing back of the unit to star t pla ying it.
– 19 – EN 1 Press [DISC MENU] . • The D VD main menu will appear . • If the feature is not av ailable, symbol may appear on the TV screen. • If disc menu is av ailable on the disc, audio lan- guage, subtitle options, chapters for the title and other options will appear for selection.
– 20 – EN 1 During playbac k, press [FWD g ] or [REV h ] . • “ g 1” or “ h 1” appears on the screen. 2 To select another speed, repeat step 1 until y our required speed n umber appears on the screen. • F or D VDs, fast forward/re verse search speed is different depending on the disc.
– 21 – EN • Shaded buttons are used for follo wing operation. There are three ways to begin playback on an Audio CD at a specific track. Using the Number buttons 1 Press the Number buttons to enter the desired trac k number . • Playback will start at the selected track.
– 22 – EN 1 During playbac k, press [SEARCH MODE] repeatedly to displa y the Time Search on the TV screen. 2 Within 30 seconds, enter a desired disc time using the Number buttons . • Playback will start at the specified time. • Press [CLEAR] to erase the incorrect input.
– 23 – EN • Shaded buttons are used for follo wing operation. REPEA T is av ailable only during playback. F or D VD-Vs 1 To activate the repeat function, press [REPEA T] during playbac k. • The repeat mode changes as described below ev ery time you press the button.
– 24 – EN Y ou may determine the order in which tracks will play . 1 In stop mode, press [MODE] . • The “PROGRAM” screen will appear . 2 Press [ ▲ ] or [ ▼ ] to select a track, then press [ENTER]. • Press [CLEAR] to erase the most recently entered track.

– 35 – EN CABINET CLEANING • W ipe the front panel and other exterior surfaces of the unit with a soft cloth immersed in luke warm water and wrung dry . • Nev er use a solvent or alcohol. Do not spray insecticide liquid near the unit. Such chemicals may cause damage and discoloration to the exposed surfaces.
