3 PREP ARA TION FOR USE Unpacking and Setup • Carefully remove the unit from the display carton and remove all packing material from the unit itself. • The detachable AC power cord is packed in the carton separately from the unit. Make sure that the AC power cord is not accidentally discarded with the carton or packing material.

6 Slide the FUNCTION switch to the RADIO position; the Power indicator will light. 1 For an enhanced Bass sound, press the BASS BOOST button ❶ . Adjust the VOLUME control ❷ as desired. 1 2 4 Slide the FUNCTION switch to the OFF position to turn the unit off.
7 PLA YING COMP ACT DISCS (ST ANDARD CD, CD-R AND CD-R W CAN BE USED) Slide the FUNCTION switch to the CD position; the Power indicator will light. 1 For an enhanced Bass sound, press the BASS BOOST button ❶ . Adjust the VOLUME control ❷ as desired.
8 During CD playback, if you wish to pause the disc momentarily, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ) button. Playback stops but the disc continues to spin and the track number blinks in the display. 1 Press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ) button again to release pause and resume normal CD playback.
9 To repeat a single track, press the REPEAT button ❶ once while in the Stop mode; the Repeat indicator will appear in the display. Press the SKIP/Search ( ) ❷ or ( ) ❸ button to select the specific track that you wish to repeat. When the desired track number appears in the display, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ) button ❹ to begin playback.
10 Press the SKIP/Search ( ) ❶ or () ❷ button repeatedly to select a second track, the display will then show, “P-02” indicating program 2 is ready to be set.
1 1 With the FUNCTION switch set to the CD, RADIO or BUZZER position, press and hold the ALARM SET button to enter the Alarm Set mode. 1 While holding the ALARM SET button ❶ , press the MINUTE SET button ❷ to adjust the minute. Release all buttons to complete alarm setting.
Caring for Compact Discs • Treat the compact disc carefully. Handle the compact disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the compact disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the co mp ac t disc label.
