4 1. Intr od uction ERB9250 is a 2 .4GHz 802.11b/g/n 300Mbps Repeater & Client Bridge (Range Booster / Extender). Range Extender solves t he signal attenuation (limited coverage) problem by li terally repeating / extending AP radio s i gnal to dead-sp ots.

6 1.3. Sy s tem Requirements T o begin using t he ERB9250, make sure you meet the following as minimum requirements : Existing A P / Ro uter PC/Notebook. Operating Sy ste m – Microsoft W indows 98 S E/ME/XP/2000/VIST A 1 Free Ethernet port.
7 2. Installat ion Please configure your PC / Notebook Ethernet card IP address before device configuration. 2.1. PC Netw o rk Adapter setup ( W indows XP) • Enter [Start Menu] select [Control panel] sele c t [Networ k ].
8 • Select [Internet P rotocol (TCP/IP)] = >Clic k [Properties]. • Select the [General ] ta b. • ERB9250 supports [DHCP] function, please selec t b oth [Obtain an I P address automatically ] and [O btain DN S server address au t omatically ].
9 2.2. Bring up ERB9250 Connect the supp lie d power-adapter to the power inlet port an d connect it t o a wall outlet. Then, ERB9250 automatically enters the self-test phase. Once WLAN LED is on and blin ki ng rando m ly to indicate that it is in normal opera tion.
10 3. Quick Setu p Range Extender Prerequisite: Before we start, please make sure the e xtender is w it hin the covera ge of y our existing AP. W e suggest you place your extender right n ext to y our AP for the initial setup. We can move the extender to further location a fte r configuration is completed.

20 7. System 7.1. Operation Mode This p age allows you to change device operation mode. ERB9250 su pports Universal Repeater (Range Extender) and Cl ient Bridge mode. By default it is configured as an Universal Repeater (also known as Extender). If you are not sure what Client Bridge is, please do not use this m ode.

25 8. Wireless 8.1. Status 8.2. Basic Radio: You c an t urn on / off w i reless radio . If wireless Ra dio is o f f, y ou cannot associate with AP t hrough wireless. Mode: In thi s device, we support t hree operation m odes which are AP router and AP route w ith WDS .

27 8.3. Advanced Fragment Threshol d : This specifies the maxim um size of a packet dur i ng the fragmentation o f data to be transmitted. If y ou set this value too low , it will result in bad perfor m ance.
28 N Data Rate: T he “Data R ate” is the rate that this access point uses to transmit data packets for N compliant wireless nodes. Highest to lowest data rate can be fixed. Channel Bandwidth : This is the range of frequen ci es that will be used .
29 ESSID Selec tion: This broadband router support multiple E SSID, you could select and set up the w an ted ESSID. Broadcast ESSID: If you enabled “Broadcast ESSID”, e very wireless station located within the coverage of this AP ca n discov er this AP easi l y.
30 Key L ength: You can select the WEP key length for encry ptio n, 64-bit or 128-bit. The lar ger t he k ey will be the higher l evel of security is used, but the thro ughput will be lower.

35 10.2. DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) If y ou have a client PC t hat cannot run an Internet ap plication (e.g. Games) pr operly from behind the NAT firew all, then y ou can open up the f irewall restrictions to unrestricted two-way Inter net access by defining a DMZ Host.
36 10.3. DoS (Den i al of Service) The Broadba nd router's firewall can block com mon hacker attacks, i ncluding Denial of Serv ice , Pin g o f Death, Port Scan a nd Sync Flood. If Internet attacks oc cur the router can log the even ts. Ping of Death: Pr otections f rom Ping of Death a tta ck.
37 Enable MAC Filteri ng: Check to enable or disab le MAC Filtering. Deny: If you select “ Deny ” then all clients will be allow ed to a ccess Internet except the clients in the list be l ow. Allow: If y ou se l ect “ A llow ” then all c lie nts will b e denied to acces s Internet except the PCs in the list below .

47 Unlimited P ri ority Que ue: T he LAN IP add ress will not be bounded in the QoS limitation. High/Lo w Priorit y Queue: T his can put th e packets in the protocol and p ort range to High/Low QoS Queue. Bandwidth Allocati on: This can reserve / limit the throughput of specific protocols and po r t ran ge.

53 Time Zone: Select t he time z one of the c ountry you are currently in. The r outer will set its time based on your selection. NTP Time Server : The router can set up external NTP Time Server. Daylight S avings : The router can al so take Daylight Savings into account .

If you wish to use this function, you m ust sel ect the Daylight Savings Time period and check/tick the enable box to enable your daylight saving conf i guration.
