7 DISHW ASHER LOADI NG Loading Suggestions ■ Remove leftover food, bones, toothpicks and other h ard items from the dishes . It is not nece ssary to rinse the dishe s befor e pu tting the m into the dishwas her . The wash module removes food particles from t he water .
8 Loa ding Bo ttom Rack The bottom rack is designed for plate s, pans, casse roles, and utensil s. Many it ems, up to 1 3" (33 cm) ta ll, fit i n the bo ttom rack. (See recommended loadin g patter ns shown.) NOTE : The features on your dishwasher rack may va ry from the drawings shown.
9 DISHW ASHER USE Detergent D ispenser The dete r gent di spenser has two sect ions. The s maller Pre-Wash sect ion em pt ies de ter ge nt in to the dish wash er when you close the door . The la rg er Main Wash sectio n automatica lly empti es detergent into the d ishwash er during the w ash.
10 Rinse Aid Dispenser IMPORTANT: Y our dish washer is desi gned to use a liqui d rinse aid. The use of rin se aids g reatly improves drying by allowi ng water to drain from the dis hes after t he final rinse. They also keep water fr om forming d rople ts tha t can dry as spots or stre aks.
11 3. Check the temperat ure on the thermometer as the w ater is running i nto the c up. Additional effici ency tips ■ T o save water an d energy and time, do not rin se dishes befor e pu tting t hem i nto the dishwa sher . ■ Use a low energy , quick, or short cycle wh enever possib le.
12 Canceling a Cyc le Anytime during a cyc le, press CANCEL/DRA IN. Y our dish washer starts a 2-min ute drain, if n eeded, and cl ears all ind icators. Let the dis hwasher drain compl etely . NOTE : If your d ishwashe r does n ot need dra inin g, the dishwash er stops an d clears all in dicators.
13 T o turn on t he lock Press and hold HEA TED DRY for 4 seconds. The lock glows. If you press an y pad whi le you r dishwa sher is locke d, the lig ht flas hes 3 t imes and t he se lectio n is ig nor ed. T o turn of f the lock Press and hold HEA TED DRY for 4 seconds.
14 W ASHING SPECIAL ITEM S If you have doubts about washing a partic ular item, check w ith the manufactu r er to se e if it is dishwas her safe. Material Dishwasher Safe?/Comments Alumi num Ye s High water temp erature and detergents can affect finish of an odized alumin um.
15 DISHW ASHER CAR E Cleaning Cleaning the exterior In most case s, regular use of a soft, d amp cloth or s ponge and a mild d eter gent is all that is n eces sary to keep the o utside of your dishwash er looking nice and cl ean. If yo ur dishwasher h as a stainles s steel exterior , a stain less steel cl eaner is recommended.
16 TR OUBLES HOOTI NG First try the solutions suggested here and possibly avoid the cost of a service call... 17 Spots and st ains on dish es ■ Spotting an d filming on d ishes Is your water har d or is ther e a high mineral content i n your water? Cond itioning t he final rin se water with a liqu id rinse aid help s eliminate spotting and filming. Keep the rins e aid dispen ser filled .
