14 FIGURE 2 MOT ION CONT ROL POSIT IONS By moving both levers an equal amount for ward or back f rom the neutral posit ion the machine can be caused to m ove forward or back ward in a straight line. 15 3.1.4 PTO Eng agem ent Switch : Located on t he right tank. Switch must be pulled out to the “ RO TATE ” position to engag e the blades. Switch is pushed in to the “ STOP ” position to stop t he blades. 3.1.5 Choke Control : Located on the r ight f uel tank .
16 3.2 PRE-STA RT 3.2.1 Fill fuel t ank. For best result s use only clean, fr esh regular grade unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or hig her. Reg ular g rade leaded g asoline may also be used; however, combustion chamber and cylinder head will requir e more f req uent service.
17 DA NGER POTENTIAL HAZARD ♦ An uncovered discharge opening w ill allow objects to be thrown in an operator’s or by stander’s direction. Also, contact with t he blade could occur. W HAT CAN HAPPEN ♦ Thrown objects or blade contact can cause serious injury or death.

20 a) Check the voltage of the bat tery with a digital voltm eter. Locate the voltag e reading of the bat tery in the table below and charg e the batter y for t he recommended t ime interval to br ing the char ge up to a f ull char ge of 12.6 volts or great er.
21 3) Install blade bolt and spr ing disc washer. Be sure the spr ing disc washer cone is installed towards the bolt head. Place a block of wood between front or rear baf f les and the blade then t orque t he blade bolts to 55-60 f t-lbs. (75-81 N-m ).
22 b) Check kill circ uits. Run eng ine at one-t hird thr ottle, disengage park ing brake and rai se off of seat (but do not g et of f of machine) engine must stop af ter approx. 1/ 2 second has elapsed (seat has t ime delay kill switch to prevent cut-out s on rough t errain).
23 4.1.11 Check hydraulic oil level: Service Interval: 40 hr. a) St op engine and wait f or all moving par ts to st op. b) Clean ar ea around hydraulic reservoir cap and rem ove cap. c) Oil level should be to t he top of the baf f le inside the tank .

25 h) Inser t the assem bled nut and axle into the wheel on the side of the wheel with the new seal and bearing. i) W ith the open end of the wheel facing up, f ill the ar ea inside the wheel around the axle f ull of NG LI gr ade #1 multi- purpose gr ease.
26 4.1.21 Check spark plug : Service Interval: 160 hrs. a) Remove spark plug, check condition and reset gap, or replace with new plug. See Eng ine Owners Manual. 4.1.22 Change f uel f ilter : Service Interval: As Required a) A f uel f ilter is inst alled between the fuel t anks and t he engine.
27 4.1.25 Fuel T ank – m ounting hardware specificat ion. W hen installing the nut s onto the f uel tank studs, fully tig hten the nyloc nut and back of f 1/2 tur n. This allows f or normal f uel t ank expansion and contract ion with changes in tem perature and f uel levels.

33 5. WA STE DISPOSAL 5.1 MOTOR OIL DISPOSA L Engine oil and hydraulic oil are both pollut ants to t he environment. Dispose of used oil at a certif ied recycling cent er or according to your stat e and local regulat ions.
