Utensil Handles Should Be T urned inward and Not Extend Ov er Adjacent Sur face Units - T o reduce the risk of burns, and spillag e due t o unintentional contact with the utensil, the handle of a utensil should be positioned so that it is turned inward, and does not e xtend over adjacent surface units.

5 If you are receiving the unit from a transportation com pany , it is customer’ s obligation to inspect thepackage and no te any damage on the delivery receipt. After delivery, ha ve y our induction cooktop carefully unpacked, and again check foran y visible damage.
6 1 / INST ALL A TION T o install the cooktop, cut out a rectangular opening in the counter as shown on the drawing and table below . Also, ensure that you hav e a minimum of 10 mm (3/8”) of space in the back of the unit, between the rim and backsplash on your count er (or wall if no backsplash) for v entilation.

9 Safety P P recautions - R R ead b b efore o o perating y y our c c ooktop Y our induction-cooking unit has been designed for residential use and food preparation, and all of the safety parame ters have been rectified accordingly . The unit incorporates numerous safe ty devices and controls, and a few de vices will be mentioned here.

11 Glass T op, Coil Size and Controls • • POWERING ON Press the start/stop touch control for the zone you want t o use. A flashing "0" indicates that the zone is on. Y ou can then choose the desired power lev el. If you do no t select a power lev el, the cooking zone will automatically shut off.
12 Tip To check the suitability of your cookware: Place the vessel on a cooking zone at power level 4. If the display remains on, your cookware is compatible. If the display flashes, your cookware cannot be used with induction cooking. You can also use a magnet to test the cookware.
13 Induced current can be created only in materials which have magne tic proper ties. Thus, utensils for use with an induction unit must be made from a ferromagnetic mat erial or have inserts with magnetic properties. Y our household may already ha ve cookware suitable for induction cooking, and you ma y test any ut ensil with an induction element.
