1 Thank you f or buying this cooker . It should give you many years of trouble-free cooking if installed and operated correctly . It is impor tant that you r ead this section before you start, par ticularly if you have not used a dual fuel cooker before .
2 Always be c ertain that the controls are in the OFF position when the oven is not in use , and befor e attempting to clean the cooker . When the ov en is on, DO NO T leav e the ov en door open for longer than necessary – otherwise, the control knobs ma y become very hot.
3 Hotplat e Burners Before using the hotplat e make sure all burners are in place and all the pan supports on the cooker are properly placed. The drawing b y each knob indicates which burner that knob controls (F ig.2-1) . Each burner has a Flame Supervision Device (FSD) that stops the ow of gas if the ame goes out.
4 Adjust the ame height to suit b y turning the knob. On this cooker the low position is beyond high, not between high and o . The ‘ small ame’ mar ks the low setting (F ig.2-4) . Make sure ames are under the pans. F or safety reasons, adjust the ames so that they do not extend beyond the edge of the cooking utensil.
5 The Multi-function Oven As well as the ov en fan and fan element, they are tt ed with two extra heating elements, one visible in the top of the o ven and the second under the oven base (F ig.2-9) . T ake care t o avoid touching the t op element and element deector when placing or removing items fr om the ovens .
6 F an Assisted Oven This function operates the fan, circulating air hea ted by the elements at the top and the base of the o ven. The combination of fan and con ventional c ooking (top and base heat) makes this function ideal for cooking large items that need thor ough cooking, such as a large meat roast.
7 Energy Saving F eature The oven has a divider f eature (F ig.2-11) . With this is in plac e only one half of the oven is heat ed and only the right-hand side elements are used. This sav es energy and is ideal for cooking most foods. When using the divider , condensation may appear in the left-hand oven.
8 Operating the Ov en The multi-function oven has two contr ols: a function selector and a temperature setting knob (F ig.2-14) . T urn the func tion selector control to a cooking function. This is the fan oven setting (F ig .2-15) . T urn the oven temperature knob to the temperatur e you need.

14 Stainless Steel Main T op Lift away pots or pans from the main t op. Remo ve the pan supports from the spillage area and carefully place in a sink of warm soapy water . Wipe loose debris from the main top . F or best results use a liquid deter gent cleaner .
15 Cleaning T able Cleaners listed (T able 5-1) are available from supermarkets or electrical retailers as stated. F or enamelled sur faces use a cleaner that is appro ved f or use on vitreous enamel. Regular cleaning is recommended. F or easier cleaning, wipe up any spillages immediately .
16 Hotplate ignition or c ooktop burners faulty Is the power on? Are the sparker (ignition electrode) or burner holes blocked by debris? Are the burner heads correctly located? See the section entitled ‘ Cleaning ’. Remember that each cooktop burner has a special safety device that stops the o w of gas if the ame goes out.
17 An ov en light is not wor king The bulb has probably burnt out. Y ou can buy a replacement bulb (which is not c over ed under the warranty) from a good electrical shop. Ask f or a 15 W 230 V lamp , FOR OVENS. It must be a special bulb, heat resistant to 300 °C (Fig .
