2 Congratula tions on purchasing a Fisher & Paykel dr yer . Y our new dryer will give you the conv enience of tumble dr ying and your clothes the advantage of not being subjected to the harsh overdrying effects of the sun. Y our clothes will feel softer , retain their shape better and will require less ironing.
3 Safety and warnings W ARNING! Fir e Hazard Only dr y fabrics that have been washed with water . A clothes dr yer produces combustible lint and must be exhausted outdoors.
4 Safety and warnings Lint Accumulat ed lint in the dr yer can become a fire hazard, it also reduces the efficienc y of the dr yer by causing longer dr ying times and increased power consumption. Clean the lint filter before every load. Ensure the area around the dr yer is clear of lint.
5 Impor tant! The dr yer must b e installed in a suitable location. Do not install the dr yer behind a lockable door , sliding door , or behind a door where the hinge is on the opposite side to that of the dryer door . Ensure the dr yer door can always be opened fully .
6 Correct installation is ver y impor tant for all dr yers to ensure maximum efficiency and safety . Impor tant! Never run the dr yer unless the air flow system is free from obstruction. There must be adequate ventilation to avoid the backflow of gases into the room from appliances burning fuels, including open fires, when operating the dr yer .
7 Flush venting The dr yer is vented through a hole in the wall, using a galvanised metal pipe or flexible hose. This is suitable for floor and wall mounted dr yers installed against an outside wall. Flexible Hose 400 mm Part No. 460754 Movable venting The dr yer is vented using a flexible hose through a hole in the wall.
8 Dr yer position The Auto-timer 3.5 kg dr yer is front venting . The air is taken in through the grill at the rear of the dryer and vented out through the grill in the door . The dr yer should be positioned so that the air intake at the rear is unrestricted.
9 T ools and par ts required: 1 x drill and 3 mm bit 1 x Phillips screw driver 2 x wood screws (14 x 50 timber tite screws) 1 x screw driver 1 x helper to lift dr yer onto bracket Extra tools and par .
10 Note: if you change mounting from upr ight to inv erted or vice versa the dr yer must be cleaned internally by a ser viceman. Dr yer wall moun ting instructions Fig . 12 W all mounting instruc tions Ensure bracket is securely fastened at both ends (eg.
11 Sor ting and loading T o get the most efficient use of your dr yer we recommend you sor t your loads. Look for a care label on your clothes. This will tell you if they can be safely tumble dried. Close zippers, hooks and eyes, etc to reduce snagging and tangling.
12 Electronic and Auto-timer 4.5 kg dr yers It is impor tant to clean the lint filter regularly , as the lint produced in the drying process can become a fire hazard if it is allowed to accumulate in or around your dryer . The lint filter is located in the door opening.
13 Y our Elec tronic dr yer takes the guess work out of choosing dr ying times by sensing the dr yness of the load. When your dr yer senses that the clothes have dr ied to the dr yness level you have selected, the dr yer will automatically turn itself off.
14 1 hour setting The 1 hour setting is a manual cycle which dries continuously for 60 minutes. The manual c ycle does not sense when your clothes are dr y . Y ou can use the 1 hour setting when using a dr ying rack to dr y shoes, hats and other items that are best dried without tumbling.
15 T empera ture settings This dr yer has 3 temperature settings; Regular , Low and Airing . The Regular setting is for dr ying most fabrics. The Low setting is for drying delicates and synthetics. It is half heat so the temperatures are lower for maximum care of the fabrics.
16 The Auto-timer dryer has been designed so you can select how long you want the clothes to dr y for . So you know exactly when your clothes will be ready. Using your dr yer 1 Clean the lint filter before every load. 2 Load the clothes into the dr yer .
17 Airing / Cool down When the Auto-timer dr yer has finished drying it will automatically go into a 13 – 15 minute airing or cool down cycle. Dur ing airing the drum tumbles and cool air is blown through the clothes. This reduces creasing if the clothes are left in the dr yer .
18 Dr ying rack 4.5 kg dr yers only A dr ying rack is available to dr y shoes, hats and other items that are best dried without tumbling. How to use the dr ying rack 1 Place the locating pin at the end of the drying rack into the hole in the centre of the rear of the dryer drum.
19 If your dr yer is not operating properly use the check list below to find the possible solution. Pressing POWER or setting the timer does not turn the machine on.
20 Manufac turers w arranty The purchaser automatically receives a 2 year Manufac turer’ s Warranty with the purchase of this Product covering par ts and labour for servicing within the countr y of purchase.
21 Check the things you can do yourself . Refer to your User Guide and check : 1 Y our appliance is correctly installed. 2 Y ou are familiar with its normal operation. 3 Y ou have read the T rouble Shooting sec tion.
