For ex am ple, if the TUNER level sounds lo wer than CD , it s ou tpu t can be adjust ed wi tho u t a ff ecti ng the ot her so ur c es. The Hand s free phone talk level, ring to ne level and micr ophone gain level can also be adjust ed by using this setting.

19 -E N DISP LA Y is selec ted on the set up ma in men u in st ep 2. Dim mer Cont rol Set the Dimmer con trol t o Au to to decrease the illuminatio n brightness of th e uni t with the head light s of the v ehicl e ON. This mode is u seful if you feel the unit’ s back lighting is too brig h t at night.
20 -EN Pairi ng a BL UET OO TH compa tible devic e with SSP (Secure Simple P air ing) 1 Using your BL UETOOTH compatible device, select the “Alpine CD Re ceiver” f or pairing. 2 Tu rn t h e Rotary en cod er t o change the head unit display fro m “P AIR N O” t o “P AIR Y ES ” .
21 -E N 2 Tu rn t h e Rotary en cod er to select “CONNEC T” to connect the se lected devi ce . The c onn ecte d de vice is ma rked with “ l ” . Select “DISCONNECT ” to disco nnect this devic e. Select “C LEAR” when you want t o clear the device f rom the devic e list.
22 -EN Setting te xt message indi cator ON /OFF (MSG ALERT) When it is set to ON, the h indica tor blinks for 30 seconds while receiving a text message. The h indicat or remains o n if ther e is an unread te xt message on t he connected mobile phone. Note s • Depending on t he mobil e phone, t his funct ion ma y not be performed.

26 -EN Playing MP3 Files from Flash Memor y (optional) If you connect a Flash Memory Device containing MP3, MP3 file s can be p lay ed ba c k. 1 Press SOUR CE to switch to the US B A UDIO m ode. 2 T o pause playback, press . Pr essing again wi ll re sume the p layback.
