P ASSENGER AIRBA G The airba g will deplo y during significant frontal c ollisions or collisions that are up to 30 degr ees fr om the l eft or the right. T he airbag will infl at e within a few thousandths of a second and de fla te on conta ct with the occupant, thus cushioning f orwar d body mov ement.
The airba gs are l ocat ed inside the sea tback of the fr ont sea ts. T here is a l abel at tached t o the side of the seatback t o indica te this. The airba g will deplo y during significant la teral c ollisions. The airb ag will not depl oy in minor la teral and front al collisions, re ar collisions, or o verturns.

Y ou can use all but one of the ke ys pr ogrammed t o your vehicl e with these re strict ed modes. Any k eys tha t have not been pr ogramme d are r ef erred t o a s an administr at or k ey or admin k ey .

MyK ey Distance T r ack s the distance when driv ers use a MyK ey . T he onl y wa y to del ete the acc umula ted distanc e is by using an admin ke y to cl ear your MyK ey . If the distance does not ac cumula te as e xpect ed, then the intended us er is not using the MyK ey , or an admin k ey user re centl y clear ed and then recr ea t ed a MyK ey .

MANUAL LIFT G A TE W ARNINGS It is extr emely danger ous to ride in the car go ar ea, inside or out side of your v ehicl e. In a c ollision, peopl e riding in these are a s are more lik ely to be seriousl y injured or kill ed. Do not all ow peopl e to ride in an y area of y our vehicle that doe s not hav e sea ts and sa fety bel ts.
Note: If the syst em does not func tion, y ou will need t o use the ke y blade to l ock and unlock y our vehicl e. The s yst em all ow s you t o opera te your vehicl e without the use of a key or remot e contr ol.
Unlocking Y our V ehicl e Note: When your vehicl e remains lock ed for l onger than three day s, the s yst em will enter an ener gy-sa ving mode. T his is to pre vent your v ehicle b at tery running out of charg e. W hen your vehicl e is unlock ed whil e in this mode, the re ac tion time of the s yst em may be a lit tle l onger than normal.
P ASSIVE ANTI-THEFT S YS TEM Principl e of Opera tion The s yst em pre vents some one from starting the engine with an inc orrec tly coded k ey . Coded K ey s If you l ose a key , you c an obtain a repl ac ement from an authoriz ed deal er . If possible , pr ovide them with the k ey number from the ta g pro vided with the original ke ys.
Trigg ering the Alarm Once armed , the al arm is trigger ed in any of the foll owing way s: • If someone opens a door , the liftg at e or the hood without a valid k ey or remot e contr ol. • If someone remo v es the audio or navig ation s yst em. • If you s witch the ignition on without a valid k ey .
Cat egory One A larm Disarm and sil ence the al arm by unl ocking the doors with the k ey and swit ching the ignition on with a corr ectl y coded ke y within 12 seconds or unl ocking the doors with the remot e contr ol.
ADJU S TING THE S TEERING WHEEL W ARNING Do not adjust the st eering wheel when your v ehicl e is moving. Note: Make sure tha t you ar e sitting in the corre ct position. See Sitting in the Corr ect Position (pag e 83). 1. Unlock the st eering column.

WINDSHIELD WIPER S Note: Fully defr ost the windshiel d bef ore swit ching on the windshiel d wipers. Note: Make sure the windshiel d wipers are swit ched off be for e entering a c ar wa sh. Note: Install new wiper bl ades a s soon as they begin t o lea ve bands of w at er and smears on the windshiel d.
In these conditions, you c an do the foll owing to help k eep y our windshield cle ar: • Lo w er the sensitivity of the aut owiper s. • Change the wiper spee d to normal or high speed wipe a s nece ssary .
Re ver se Gear Wipe The r ear wiper will turn on aut oma ticall y when sele cting re ver se ge ar if: • the re ar wiper is not alrea dy swit ched on • the wiper le ver is in position A, B, C or D • the front wiper is oper ating ( when set to position B).
GENERAL INF ORMA TION Condensa tion in Lamp Assemblies Ext erior lamp s hav e vents t o acc ommodate normal chang es in air pressur e. Condensa tion can be a natur al by-pr oduct of this design. When moist air ent ers the lamp a ssembly through the v ents, there is a possibility tha t condensa tion can occur when the temper a ture is c old .
High Beams Pull the l ev er full y to war d you t o switch the high beams on. Push the l ev er f orward t o switch the high beams off . Headlamp Flasher Pull the l ev er to ward you slightl y and rel ea se it to fla sh the hea dlamps. AUT OLAMPS Note: It may be nec essary t o swit ch your headl amps on manuall y in se vere w ea ther conditions.
INS TRUMENT LIGHTING DIMMER Pr ess it repe at edly or pre ss it and hold it until the desired l evel is re ached . Note: If you disconnec t the battery or it los es charg e the instrument lighting will return t o its brightest set ting.
Note: Only use f og lamps during r educ ed visibility , for e xampl e, f og, snow or hea vy rain. Note: If you swit ch autol amps on, you can only s witch the fog l amps on once autol amps has turned the headl amps on. REAR FOG LAMPS Pr ess the contr ol to s witch the f og lamps on or off.

POWER WINDO W S W ARNINGS Do not le av e children una tt ended in your v ehicl e and do not le t them pla y with the pow er window s. T hey ma y seriousl y injure themsel ves.
2. Clos e the window a thir d time to the point of resist ance . The bounc e-back fe atur e is no w disabl ed and you c an clos e the window manuall y . The window will g o pa st the point of resist ance and y ou can cl ose it fully . See an authoriz ed de aler a s soon as possible if the windo w does not close a fter the third a tt empt.
The mirr ors will f ol d automa tically when you l ock your vehicl e with the ke y , the remot e contr ol or a ke yl ess entry sy stem reques t. The mirr ors will unf old when you unlock y our vehicle with the k ey , the remot e contr ol, a k eyl ess entry s yst em reques t, the driver's int erior door handle or starting the engine.
CHILDMINDER MIRROR GLOBAL OPENING AND CLO SING Y ou can also opera te the pow er window s with the ignition off using the global opening and global cl osing function. Note: Global opening will onl y oper at e for a short period of time a fter y ou hav e unlock ed your vehicl e using the remot e control.

Oil Pressur e W arning Lamp W ARNING Do not resume y our journey if it illumina t es despit e the le vel being corr ect. Ha ve the syst em check ed b y an authorized de al er immedia tel y. If it illumina t es when you ar e driving, this indica tes a malfunction.
Safe ty Bel t Minder W ARNINGS The sa fety bel t minder remains in stand-b y mode when the front sa fety belt s hav e been f as tened . It will sound if either sa fe ty bel t is unfa stened. Do not sit on top of a f astened s af ety belt t o prevent the sa fety bel t minder from c oming on.

MANUAL CLIMA TE CONTR OL Fan speed c ontrol: C ontrols the v ol ume of air circul a ted in y our vehicle. Adjus t to sel ect the desired f an speed or switch off . If y ou swit ch the fan off , the windshield ma y fog up. A On and off: Pr ess the butt on to turn the s yst em on and off.
Heated fr ont seats: Pr ess the butt on to turn the heat ed seats on. See Heat ed Seats (pa ge 87). H Air conditioning: P ress the but ton t o swit ch the air conditioning on or off .
Windshiel d: Pr ess the butt on to distribute air thr ough the windshiel d air vents. Y ou can also use this set ting to def og and clear the windshiel d of a thin co vering of ice. F Heated windshiel d: Press the butt on to de fog and cl ear the windshield of a thin co vering of ic e.
T empera ture C ontrol Y ou can set the temper ature bet ween 61°F (16°C) and 82°F (28°C) in st eps of 1°F (0 .5°C). In position l ow , the s yst em will swit ch to permanent c ooling. In position high, the sy stem will s witch t o permanent hea ting.

SITTING IN THE C ORRECT POSITION W ARNINGS Do not recline the se a tback too f ar as this c an cause the oc cupant to slide under the sa fe ty bel t, re sulting in serious injury in the ev ent of a collision.
