8 -EN Adjusting Volume Tu r n t h e Rotary enco der un til the de sired soun d is obtaine d. Setting the Dimmer Con trol (CDE-102Ri/ CDE-103BT/CDE-104BTi only) 1 Press FUNC ./SE TUP so that the indic ator lights up. 2 Press 6/DIMMER repeatedl y to select the DIMMER mode.
9 -EN Presetting Sta tions Manually 1 Selec t the radio band an d tune in a desir ed rad io station you wish to store in th e preset memo ry . 2 Press and hold, for at least 2 seconds, any one o f the pr eset butt ons (1 through 6) int o whi ch you wis h to store the station.
10 -EN Recalling Preset RDS Sta tions 1 Press FUNC ./SE TUP so that the indic ator lights up. 2 Press 1 /AF to activate the RDS mode. 3 Press FUNC ./SE TUP to activate the normal mode. The indica tor goes out. 4 Make sure that the indicator lig ht goes o ut, then press the preset button in whic h your desired RDS station is pr eset.
11 -E N Receiving T raffi c Information While Playing CD or Radio 1 Press and ho ld BAND/T A for at least 2 secon ds so that the “ T A” in dicator lights up.
12 -EN 1 Insert a disc with the label side facing up. The disc will be pulled into the uni t automatically , and the “ ” indicator lights up. When a disc is alr eady inserted, pre ss SOURCE/ to switch to the DISC mode. The mode will chan ge eve ry time the button is pr essed.
13 -E N MP3/WMA/AA C mo de : * In the USB mode, all f iles stored in the USB memory are played back in random sequen ce, and the “ ” indicato r lights up. Searching for CD T ext On discs uti lizing CD T ext, songs can be searche d and played by using their rec orded titles .
14 -EN About MP3/W MA/AAC What is MP3? MP3, w hose offic ial name is “MP EG-1 A udio La yer 3,” is a compression sta ndard prescribed by the ISO, t he Inte rnation al Standa rdization Or ganiza tion and MPEG wh ich is a joint a ctivity institution of the IE C.

19 -E N 4 Press and ho ld FUNC./SE TUP for at l east 2 seconds to return to normal mode. • Pr ess /SOUND to return to the previous mode. • If no operation is perfor med for 60 seconds , the unit will return to normal mode aut omatically.
20 -EN Playing MP3 Data (PLA Y MODE) This unit can play back CDs contain ing both CD and MP3/W MA/AAC data (c reated in Enhanced CD (CD Ex tra) f ormat). Ho we ver , in some situat ions, playb ack of an enhance d CD may be difficult. In this case , you can select play back of a single sess ion only, containing the C D data.

24 -EN Dialing a Number In The Phone Book Up to 1,0 00 telephone numbers are downloadab le from a mobile ph one. Dial a call by select ing a person from the phone book list. Setti ng item : PHONE BOOK • If a name cannot be obtained via the phonebook, “ ----------” is displayed.

An iPhone/iPod can be connected to this unit b y using the proprietary ALPIN E FULL SPEED ™ Connection Cable (KCE-433iV ) (sold separately for CDE-101R/CDE-101RM/CDE-103BT). When this unit is connect ed by using the cable, the controls on the iPod are not functional.

28 -EN Random Play Shuffle (M. I.X.) The Shuffle functio n of the iPhone/ iPod is display ed as on this unit. Shuffle Albums: The songs on eac h album are p layed back i n proper or der . Upon completio n of all the songs on t he album, the nex t album is selected ran domly .
29 -E N In Case of Difficulty If you encounte r a problem, please turn the power off, then on again. I f the un it is still n ot functi oning nor mally, please review the item s in the following check list. This gui de will help you isolate the probl em if the unit is a t fault.
30 -EN The sound is not output from the speakers. • Un it has no ou tpu t sign al of th e in tern al am plifier. - PO WER IC is swit ched to “PO W ON” ( page 20 ). iP od does not play and no sound is out put. • The iPod has not been re cognised .
31 -E N • The iPhone/i Pod is not co nnecte d. - M ake sure th e iPhone /iPo d is corr ectly co nnec ted (refer to “ Connect ions ”). Make sure th e cable i s not bent excessively . • There a re no songs in the iPhone/iPod. - Download song s to the iPhone /iPod and con nect to this uni t.

34 -EN Installation • The ma in unit must be mounted w ithin 35 degr ees of the ho rizonta l plane, back to front. Caution When you ins tall this unit in your car , do not remove the detachable front panel. If the detachable fr ont panel is removed during instal lation, you might press too hard and warp the metal plate that ho lds it in place.
35 -E N Removal 1. Remove the deta chabl e front panel. 2. Use a small screwdriver ( or similar tool) to push th e locking pi ns to the “up” pos ition (see ab ove drawing ). As eac h pin is unlock ed, gently pul l out on t he unit to make sur e it does not re-l ock befo re unl ocking th e second pi n.

Connect this to an iPhone/iPod by using F ULL SPEED TM Connection Cable ( KCE-433iV) (sold separately for CDE- 101R/CDE- 101RM/CDE-1 03BT) or to an ex ternal device (such as a portable play er) by using con version ca ble (KCE-237B ) for bui lding u p the AUX IN (sold s eparate ly).
