3 Y our dishwasher cleans b y spra ying a mixture of hot water and detergent through the spra y ar ms against soiled surf aces. Each cycle begins with a pre-drain. Ne xt, the dishwasher fills with water cov er ing the filter area. W ater is then pumped through the filter and spra y ar ms.

6 T o select heated dry , press the pad a second time. The light abov e the pad will tur n off. Heated dr y provides f aster dr ying since the heating element is on dur ing the dr ying por tion of the cycle. Y ou may see w ater vapor coming from v ent during the r insing and dr ying por tion of cycle.
7 Preparing and Loading Dishes Dish Preparation Scrape a wa y large pieces of food, bones , pits, toothpicks , etc. The continuous filtered wash system will remov e remaining food particles. Bur ned-on foods should be loosened bef ore loading. Empty liquids from glasses and cups.
8 Loading the Silverware Basket Mix spoons, f or ks and knives to pre vent nesting. Mixing items gives better cleaning and dr ying. F or saf ety , load shar p knives and f or ks with handles up . Be sure nothing protrudes through bottom of bask et or rack to b lock the spra y ar m.
9 Dishwasher Dispenser & Deter g ents • Use only fresh automatic dishwashing detergent. Other types will cause ov ersudsing. • Add detergent just bef ore star ting cycle. • Store detergent in a cool, dr y location. Moist or caked detergent will not dissolv e proper ly .
10 Dishwasher Dispenser & Detergents (continued) Rinse Aid Rinse aid greatly impr oves drying and reduces water spots and filming. W ater "sheets" off dishes rather than f or ming water droplets that cling and leav e spots.
11 Overfill Pr otector — keeps dishw asher from ov erfilling and is located in the left front cor ner of the tub . • Clean occasionally with household cleaner containing vinegar or bleach to dissolv e any buildup . • Ov erfill Protector should mov e up and down freely about one inch.
12 Solutions to Common Dishwashing Pr oblems • A v oid ov erloading and improper loading. (See Prepar ing and Loading Dishes.) • Use fresh detergent. Old detergent is ineff ective . • Make sure rinse aid dispenser is filled. • Check to see that proper amount of detergent is being used for cycle selected.
