5 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING YOUR COOKTOP • Know which knob controls each surface heating unit . Place a pan of food on the unit before turning it on, and turn the unit off before removing the pan. • Use proper pan size —This appliance is equipped with one or more surface units of different sizes.
6 Your electric range features include: 1 . Electronic oven control with kitchen timer. 2 . Left front single (some models), dual (some models) or triple (some models) radiant element control. 3 . Left rear single (some models) or dual (some models) radiant control.
7 Types of oven racks Your range may be equipped with one or more of the oven rack styles shown. BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Oven vent location The oven vent is located under the left side of the control panel (See Fig. 1). When the oven is on, warm air passes through this vent.
8 BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Effortless™ Oven Rack system Some models are equipped with a special oven rack system that automatically partially extends the oven rack from the interior oven glides to assist in easier access to your food items. This feature works whenever the oven door is opened or closed.
9 NOTES About the ceramic glass cooktop The ceramic cooktop has radiant surface elements located below the surface of the glass. The design of the ceramic cooktop outlines the area of the surface element underneath. Be sure to match the pan size with the diameter of the element outline on the cooktop and only flat-bottomed cookware should be used.

11 Single radiant surface elements (all models) To operate the single radiant element: 1 . Place correctly sized cookware on single radiant surface element. 2 . Push in and turn the surface control knob in either direction (Fig. 2) to the desired setting (Refer to the Suggested radiant surface element settings table Fig.

The symbol indicates a setting for the inner coil only. The symbol indicates a setting for both inner and outer coils.
13 Keep warm (some models) The purpose of the keep warm zone is to keep hot cooked foods at serving temperature. Use the keep warm feature to keep cooked foods hot such as; vegetables, gravies, casseroles, soups, stews, breads, pastries and oven-safe dinner plates.
14 SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Home Canning Be sure to read and observe all the following points when home canning with your appliance. Check with the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) website and be sure to read all the information they have available as well as follow their recommendations for home canning procedures.
15 OVEN CONTROL FUNCTIONS READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE OVEN. For satisfactory use of your oven, become familiar with the various keypad functions as described below. Oven control (for models with Quick Bake™ only) Broil pad — Use to select the variable broil feature.
16 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Setting the clock When the appliance is first plugged in or when the power supply to the appliance has been interrupted, the display will flash "12:00". It is recommended to always set the clock for the correct time of day before using the appliance.
17 Setting the minute timer 1 . Press . 2 . Press the to increase the time in one minute increments. Press and hold the to increase the time in 10 minute increments. The timer can be set for any amount of time from 1 minute to 11 hours and 59 minutes.
18 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS The oven may be programmed to bake at any temperature from 170°F to 550°F (77°C to 287°C). The factory preset automatic bake temperature is 350°F (177°C). To set bake 1 . Press . "— — —" appears in the display.
19 When the set bake time runs out 1. " End " will appear in the display window and the oven will shut-off automatically. 2 . The control will beep 3 times every 60 seconds as a reminder until is pressed. To change the oven temperature or bake time after baking has started 1 .
20 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Quick Bake (some models) Benefits of the Quick Bake feature — Foods will cook faster, saving time and energy. — Multiple rack baking. — No special pans or bakeware needed. How Quick Bake works Quick Bake uses a fan to circulate the oven's heat uniformly and continuously around the oven.

22 The interior oven light will automatically turn ON when the oven door is opened. Press to turn the interior oven light ON and OFF whenever the oven door is closed. The interior oven light is located at the upper left rear wall of the oven interior and is covered with a glass shield held by a wire holder.
23 A self-cleaning oven cleans itself with high temperatures (well above normal cooking temperatures) which eliminate soils completely or reduces them to a fine powdered ash you can wipe away with a damp cloth.
24 SELF-CLEANING 2. Press . The " : " in the time of day will flash. 3 . Press and hold the pad to scroll to the time to start the delayed Self-Clean cycle. Release the pad when the desired time is displayed. 4. Press . “---” appears in the display.

26 Consistent and proper cleaning is essential to maintaining your ceramic glass cooktop. To maintain the cooktop appearance DO NOT: • Slide anything metal or glass across the cooktop. • Use cookware with dirt or dirt build up on bottom; replace with clean cookware before using.
27 Aluminum foil and the cooktop - Use of aluminum foil on a hot cooktop can damage the ceramic glass. Do not use thin aluminum cooking utensils or allow aluminum foil to touch the ceramic cooktop under ANY circumstances. Aluminum utensils and the cooktop - Care must be taken when aluminum pots or pans are used on the cooktop.

29 Solutions to common problems • BEFORE YOU CALL Surface element does not heat cookware. • Lightweight or warped pans used. Use only flat, evenly balanced, medium or heavyweight quality cookware. Flat pans heat better than warped pans. Cookware materials and weight of the material affect heating.
30 Problem Solution BEFORE YOU CALL • Solutions to common problems Oven smokes excessively when broiling. • Incorrect setting or food preparation. Follow broiling instructions in Setting Oven Controls section. • Make sure oven door is open to broil stop position.
31 Brown streaks or specks on cooktop surface. • Spillovers are cooked onto ceramic surface. Use razor blade scraper to remove soil. See "Cooktop Cleaning" and "Cooktop Maintenance" in the Care & Cleaning section. Metal marks on the cooktop.
