2 I NSTALLATION This chap ter contains PCI Dual 1 0/100Base-T Ether net Network In terface Card (NIC) installati on info rmation . Inst allat ion T ool s T o inst all thi s NIC in t he T otal Contr ol cha ssis, you need a #2 Phillips an d flat-hea d screwdriver .

Install ation Procedur e 2- 3 2 Select a slo t at the rear of th e T otal Con tr ol chassi s for installin g the NIC. Insta ll this NIC in s lot(s): 1–16 . For manag ed chassis, slot 17 is reserved for th e Network Mana gement Card (N MC) NIC . 3 Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to re move the safety pane l covering th is slot.
2-4 C HAPTER 2: I NSTALLATION 4 Insert the NIC be tween the slot’ s upp er and lower card guides. 5 Slide the NIC into the chassis, until t he fr ont of the NIC is flush with the chassis.
Install ation Procedur e 2- 5 6 Use a fla t-head screwdriver to tig hten the screws on th e front panel. 7 Cover any unused cha ssis slots with safety panels. 8 Install th e Network Applicati on Card (NAC) corresponding t o this NI C. Refer to the NAC ’ s Getting Start ed Guide for more informati on.
