7 Í NOTE Radiant elements have a limiter that allows the element to cycle ON and OFF , even at the HI setting. This helps to prevent damage to the ceramic glass cooktop . Cycling at the HI setting is normal and can occur if the cookware is too small for the r adiant element or if the cookware bottom is not fl at.
8 Using proper cookware The size and type of cookware used will in fl uence the setting needed for best cooking results. Be sure to f ollow the recommendations for using proper cookware as illustrated in Figures 1 & 2. Cookware should have fl at bottoms that mak e good contact with the entire surface heating element (Figure 1).
9 SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Í NOTE See Recommended Set ting for Surf ace Element table on page 7 . Single radiant surface elements The cooktop has 2 SINGLE radiant surf ace elements: the left rear position and the right rear position. The left rear element may also be used with the Bridge element (left front and center).

11 CAUTION Radiant surface elements ma y appear to have cooled after they have been turned OFF . The hot surface indicator light will turn ON and will continue to glow until the glass cooktop has cooled down to a moderate level.
12 SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS CAUTION Do not place plastic items such as salt and pepper shakers, spoon holders or plastic wrappings on cooktop when it is in use. These items could melt or ignite. Potholders, towels or wooden spoons could catch fi re if placed too close to the surf ace elements.

When the oven is on, warm air is released through the vent. This venting is necessary f or proper air circulation in the oven and good baking results.
14 SETTING MAIN OVEN CONTROLS Control pad features READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE OVEN. For satisf actory use of your oven, become familiar with the v arious features and functions of the o ven as described below . Detailed instructions for each feature and function follow later in this Use & Care Guide.
15 SETTING MAIN OVEN CONTROLS MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM CONTROL PAD SETTINGS All of the features listed below have minimum and maximum time or temper ature settings that may be entered into the control. An ENTRY acceptance beep will sound each time a control pad is touched (the acceptance beep on the Oven Lockout pad is delayed 3 seconds).
16 SETTING MAIN OVEN CONTROLS SETTING SILENT CONTROL OPERATION The DELAY START and SELF CLEAN pads control the Silent Control operation f eature. The Silent Control operation f eature allows the oven control to be oper ated without sounds or beeps whenever necessary .

19 SETTING MAIN OVEN CONTROLS Í NOTE If your clock is set for normal 12 hour display mode the Delayed Timed Bake or Dela yed Timed Convection Bak e cycle can never be set to start more than 12 hours in advance.
20 SETTING MAIN OVEN CONTROLS SETTING BROIL The BROIL pad controls the Broil feature. When broil- ing, heat radiates downward from the o ven broiler for even cover age. The oven can be progr ammed to broil at any temper ature from 400°F to 550°F with a default temperature of 550°F .
21 SETTING MAIN OVEN CONTROLS SETTING MY FAVORITE The My F avorite pad is used to record and recall your fav orite recipe settings. This feature may store and recall from 1 to 3 different settings. The My F avorite f eature may be used with Bake or Timed Bak e.
22 SETTING MAIN OVEN CONTROLS SETTING THE SABBATH FEATURE (for use on the Jewish Sabbath & Holidays) The BAKE TIME and DELAY START pads are used to set the Sabbath feature.
23 SETTING MAIN OVEN CONTROLS Í NOTE The oven temper ature adjustments made with this feature will not change the Self -Clean cycle temperature or the Broil temperature. TO SET THE OVEN CONTROL BACK TO THE FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS This function allows you to reset the user de fi ned settings back to the original settings.
24 What to Expect during Cleaning While the oven is in oper ation, the oven heats to temperatures much higher than those used in normal cooking. Sounds of metal expansion and contraction are normal. Odor is also normal as the food soil is being removed.
25 SETTING MAIN OVEN CONTROLS Í NOTE If a 2 or 4 hour clean time is desired, press 2 0 0 for 2 hours or press 4 0 0 for a 4 hours clean time. 26 SETTING AUXILIARY OVEN CONTROLS TO BAKE 1. Arrange ov en racks while the ov en is cool. 2. T urn the T emperature Control Knob to the desired oven temper ature. When the oven is fi rst turned ON, the oven indicator light below the T emper ature Control Knob will glow .
27 CARE & CLEANING (Cleaning Chart) Cleaning various parts of your appliance Before cleaning any part of the appliance, be sure all controls are turned OFF and the appliance is COOL. REMOVE SPILLOVERS AND HEA VY SOILING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. REGUL AR CLEANING WILL REDUCE THE NUMBER OF MAJOR CLEANING LA TER.
28 CARE & CLEANING Porcelain enamel oven Cleaning (auxiliary oven) CAUTION Ammonia must be rinsed before operating the oven. Provide adequate ventilation. CAUTION DO NOT line the oven walls, bot tom, r acks or any other part of the appliance with aluminum foil.
29 CARE & CLEANING Ceramic glass cooktop cleaning & maintenance Consistent and proper cleaning is essential to maintaining your Ceramic glass cooktop. Prior to using your cooktop for the fi rst time, apply the recommended CERAMA BRYTE® Cleaning Creme to the ceramic surf ace.

35 OCCURRENCE POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTION Areas of discoloration with metallic sheen. Mineral deposits from w ater and food. Remo ve using a ceramic -glass cooktop cleaning cream. Use cookware with clean, dry bottoms. Poor baking results. Many factors af fect baking results.
