Optional Dual Battery Configuration Y ou can configure y our notebook to run in a dual battery configuration by using an addi- tional charged Lithium ion battery installed in the optional battery charger . It is in a pseudo-off state, with all applica- tions closed, but can be turned on by pressing the Suspend/Resume button.
CAUTION T ur ning off the power with the power switch or using the Suspend/Resume button when any of the Access indicators are On may cause loss of data and/or system errors. Har d Drive Access Indicator T he Har d Drive Ac cess indicator t ells you when the internal hard driv e is being accessed.

Section Three 32 EXTERNAL FLOPPY DISK DRIVE T he external floppy disk driv e is a 3.5" drive which can read and write on 1.44MB and 720KB memory capacit y floppy disks. Floppy disk format is controlled fr om your operating system. (See your W indo ws 98 SE Guide for more information .

CAUTION Be careful not to scratch the infrared port lens. Scratches, dirt or other surface marks can effect operation. POINT The internal modem is designed to the ITU-T V .90 standard. Its maximum speed of 53000bps is the highest allowed by the FCC, and its actual connection rate depends on the line conditions.

This is particularly important if you will be leaving your notebook in a suspended state for a prolonged period of time.
Section Three 40 Video T imeout The V ide o Timeout is one of the power man- agement parameters which sa ves pow er by turning off the display if there is no k eyboard or pointer activity for the user selected timeout period. Any k eyboard or pointer activity wil l cause the display t o restart automatically .

Four User Installable Features LifeBook B Series from Fujitsu 49 T o Install the Port Replicator: T he P ort Replicat or can be installed on your notebook while the power is on, while in Suspend mode, or while the p owe r is off. 1. Open the Docking Connector c ov er on the rear panel of your notebook to expose the Docking Connector .
