5 EN THINGS TO DO FOR THE FIRST TIME Attaching th e base Y ou must attach the base t o the unit to have it as a table top unit . Be sure th e front a nd rear o f th e base match the proper direction. To remove the base from this unit U nscrew the Phillips pan screws on step 3.

8 EN PREPARA TION FOR USE Installing the Batteries 1) Open the battery compartment cover . 2) Insert “R6/AA, 1.5V” penlight batteries into battery compartment in the direction as indicated by the polarity (+/–) markings. Batteries installed with incorrect polarity may damage the remote unit.
9 EN [COMPONENT CONNECTION] RCA component video co nnection offers better picture quality. 1) Connect the component video output jack (Y, Pb, Pr) of y our video device and the COMPON ENT vide o (Y, Pb, Pr) input jack of this unit. U se an R CA component video cable (not supplied).
10 EN [PC CONNECTION] If you connect this unit and your PC, you can use this unit as a computer mo nitor. 1) Connect the moni tor jack of your PC and the PC-IN (RGB) jack of this unit. Use a V GA cable with ferrite core (not supplied). 2) Connect the audio line out ja ck of your PC and the PC-IN (AUDIO) jack of this unit.
11 EN SETUP FOR USE Initial Setting You need to set the followings to use the unit appropriately for the first time you turn on the unit . 1) Pre s s [ Q (standby-on) ] to turn on the unit. • “Initial Setup ” language m enu will appear . 2) Pre s s [ K / L ] repeatedly to select the menu language y ou want, then press [OK] .
12 EN OPERATIONS Watching a TV Programme To select a cha nnel Press [ / ] repeatedly to select your desired channel. or Press [the Numb er buttons] to enter a channel number then [OK] for quicker access. • If you want to select the channel 24 without pressing [OK] , press [2] first, then press [4] within 3 seconds.

14 EN EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) You can easily find a channel or see the detailed chann el information. EPG gives you sche duled information of the TV programmes. 1) Pre s s [GUIDE] . • E PG will appear. 2) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select a channel, then press [ 1 ] .
15 EN Changing the TV Screen Display Mode You can select your favourite TV screen size. Press [ASP ECT] repeatedly to switch the TV screen display mode. For SD (Standard Definition) video signal “Auto” Selects the TV screen display mode automatically.
16 EN OTHER SETTINGS Picture Adjustment You can adjust the pi cture settings according to your personal preference. These settings are automatically stored afte r exiting the picture menu. 1) Pre s s [MENU] to display the menu. 2) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select “Pictur e”, then pr ess [OK] .

18 EN PC Settings You can adjust the PC screen posi tion, clock and phase. Make sure your PC is connected. 1) Pre s s [MENU] to display the menu. 2) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select “Pictur e”, then pr ess [OK] . 3) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select “PC Settings ”, then press [OK] .
19 EN “Auto Volume Control” You can set to keep a constant lo udn ess differential between the TV commercials and the programs. 3) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select “ Auto V olume Control ”. 4) Pre s s [ 0 / 1 ] to select the setti ng (“On, Off ”) you want.
20 EN Audio Language Selection You can select the main language. 1) Pre s s [MENU] to display the menu. 2) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select “TV ”, then press [OK] . “Audio Lang uage” 3) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select “ A udio Language”. 4) Pre s s [ 0 / 1 ] to select the language you want.

22 EN Channel Skip When using [ / ] , the channel you selected will be skipped. 1) Pre s s [MENU] to display the menu. 2) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select “TV ”, then press [OK] . 3) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select “Channel”, then press [OK] . 4) Pre s s [ K / L ] to select “Channel Skip ”, then press [OK] .

26 EN C.I. (Common Interface) This unit is equipped with a C.I. slot. You can enjoy additional services with this func tion, for example Pay TV. The access restrictions menu will appear on the TV screen when a CI module is installed. 1) T urn off the unit and unplug from an AC outlet.
27 EN “Maturit y Rating” You can set the parental rating to avoid watching an inappropriate programme for your children. 4) Pre ss [ K / L ] to select “Maturity Rating”, then press [OK] . 5) Pre ss [ K / L ] to select “Par ental Rating”. 6) Pre s s [ 0 / 1 ] to select the age restriction.
28 EN MAINTENANCE Panel Cleaning • If the LCD panel should require c leanin g, wipe it with a cotton or soft cloth. Before cleaning the panel, disconnect the power cord. Servicing • Should your unit become inoperative, do not try to correct the problem by yourself.
