T o prevent failur es and/or data loss, it is important to follow the steps below when disconnecting or ‘unmoun ting’ the drive from y our computer .

p.12 Using Y our Drive on Mac ® G DRIVE ® Use with Time Machine G-DRIVE mobile works per fectly and easily with Time Machine. Time Machine is an application that ships with your Mac and pr ovides automatic backup for y our les. The follo wing steps will quickly set up G-DRIVE mobile with Time Machine.
p.13 Using Y our Drive on Mac ® G DRIVE ® 3. In the dialog box that appears , selec t the G-DRIVE mobile. Click the U se for Backup button. 4. Make sure the Time Machine switch is set to ON. Y ou can set its options by click ing the Options button. Do this to choose volumes , folders or les you do NO T want to backup.
p.14 Using Y our Drive on Mac ® G DRIVE ® Initialize Drive f or Mac G-DRIVE mobile was factor y-formatt ed for use or ‘initialized’ for Mac OS. Y ou can reinitialize if y ou would like to quickly erase the contents of the driv e. Here ar e the steps.
p.15 Using Y our Drive on Mac ® G DRIVE ® 4. Click the F ormat pop-up and choose the Format option that y ou prefer . • Mac OS Extended ( Journaled): Use this format if y ou intend to use the drive f or Time Machine or to cr eate a separate bootable installation of the OS.

NO TE: This process is not r equired for the oper ation of G-DRIVE mobile.

p.20 Using Y our Drive on Mac ® G DRIVE ® 2. Select the FireW ire or USB icon – not the G- T echnology drive icon – by clicking it in the left-side column. 3. Click on the P ar tition button in the main window . 4. Select the number of par titions you would like from the V olume S cheme menu.

A simple initialization will prepar e your drive f or use with Window s 7, Vista and XP syst ems. F or helpful information on conguring and using y our drive with Windows , please visit z.
p.25 Using Y our Drive on W indow s ® G DRIVE ® Cross Pla tform Use Y ou can set up G-DRIVE mobile for use on both Window s and Mac system by formatting the drive as ‘F A T32’ . T o do this, use the Disk Utility application and format the drive to MS-DOS ® (F A T ), also known as F A T32.
