2 This service manual is designed to answer questions related to model operational req uirements, troubleshoo ting and disassembly/assembly procedures. It contains electronic ignition o peration, t rouble- shooting and electronic co ntrol o perations that includ e diagnostic cod es, ladder diagrams, wire diagrams and troubleshoo ting.

5 Understanding the sequenc e of operation is necessary in properly trouble-s hooting this appliance. In this s ection the sequence of operation w ill be covered first, as well as c alibration and op eration of com ponents, and bas ic trouble shooting techniques for that specific m odel.
6 A therm oc ouple type test instrum ent is prefer red for m easuring oven temper atures ac curately. Mercury thermom eters are acceptable providing they can be proven accurate. Regardless of the ty pe instr ument used, it is m ost desirable to double-check it just bef ore m aking an oven temper ature check .

8 ELECTRO NIC CONT ROLS - “ E” Sequence of Operation (W ith the Oven Doors Closed) 1. Line Voltage is supplied to the Mode Switch, Door Switch and the Momentary Light Switch. 2. Set Mode Switch to COO K and clos e the oven doors . Line Voltage is s ent f rom Mode Switch to power up the C ontroller and to the AUX r elay on the contr oller.
9 ELECTRONIC CONTROL FA ILURE CODES The G ARLAND digital control has a self -diagnostic program . If a problem occ urs within the digital c ontroller, you m ay see one of the "F" codes. Below is a li sting of the "F" codes with explanatio ns: -F1- Relay output is enabled when not cooking.
10 The contr oller needs voltage to operate and i s c apable of operating on three (3) differ ent line voltage s, 115 Vac, 208 Vac, 240 Vac. On the back of the Robertshaw COM6000 there are s everal ¼ ” male spade term inal or p in connections.
11 The Us er Pref erence Of fset is designed to enable the user to adjust the c ontrolling tem perature. T here are two different sty les of controllers used by G ARLAND at the pr esent time.
12 Entry Exit UPO - User Preference Offset . Used by the user to adjust t he controlling temperature +/- 50º in 1º increments. 1. Set the time digits to 00:00. 2. Set the temperature digits to X 10º. 3. Depress & hold the Start button for f ive seconds.
13 The saf ety lockout tim er circuit starts tim ing the m om ent the trial f or pilot ignition star ts. W hen the tim ing period runs out, the trial f or ignition ends, and the control m odule goes into lockout. Before another attem pt to start can be m ade, the S86 m ust be res et.

15 CHECK GROUNDING A com m on ground is required f or the pilot burner, the ignitor-sensor, the GND term inal of the S86, and the m ain burner. T he m ain burner generally serves as the com m on ground. If the ground is poor or erratic, saf ety shutdowns may occur occ asionally even though operation is norm al at the tim e of the check out.
