2 ww w . ga teway . com C onnec ting the monitor T o connect the monitor: 1 Position your comput e r and the m onitor so you can reach the c onnections on each. 2 Lay t he mo nito r on i ts bac k, the n con nect the pow er co rd to the po wer c onne ctor under the bottom of t he screen.
3 www .gatew ay .com If your computer supports digi ta l vi deo (white video connector), conn ect the digital video cable to the white DVI connector under t he bottom of the screen. 4 Return the moni tor to its upright position, t hen make sure that y our computer is turned off.

5 www .gatew ay .com Star ting the monitor T o start the monitor: 1 Press the power button on the front o f monitor . The power LED o n the power button turns on. 2 T urn on your co mputer . 3 After your computer is running, the power LED o n the monitor’ s p ower button should be blue.
6 ww w . ga teway . com A djusting monitor settings Use the external co ntrols (located on t he moni tor itself) an d software controls (accessible in W indows) to adjust th e display image. Fo r more information about so ftware controls, see “Software c ontrols” on page 10.

T o lock the control buttons: 1 Press and hold the MENU a n d buttons together for five seconds. 2 T o unl ock the controls, p ress and hold the MENU and buttons together for five seconds.

Ad justing the colo r dept h Color de pth is the numbe r of colors your video card uses. Most images look best displayed with the maximum numbe r of co lors av ailabl e.

For example, you can increase the resolution to fit mo re icons on your desktop, or you can decrease the resolution to make reading and identifying obj ects on the monitor easier .
